The Wilderness – Giles Bag

May 12, 2017 by Loadout Room Guest Authors Leave a Comment

The Wilderness - Giles Bag

I have been using a Frequent Flier belt from The Wilderness for years and have been 100% satisfied with it.  I was looking through the website and came across their Giles Bag and recalled something I had recently seen about different options to carry ammo to the range without using metal military ammo or plastic ammo cans.  The bag looked like it was just the right size so I ordered one in grey.  When it arrived I checked it and found it to be solidly made, as per their website “All our bags are constructed of tough, water-repellent Cordura nylon.

During construction, every cut edge is taped with nylon seam-tape. There are no raw edges in any of our products.” The bag is  4″ x 5″ x 12″, there are carry handles on the top, the main storage area opens clamshell style and a zipper pocket on the outside to hold small tools and accessories, I put my cleaning kit stored in an M16 style cleaning kit pouch as shown by Loadout Room Editor Scott Witner.  I loaded up the main storage area with 1000 rounds of 9MM and it all fit no problem with a little room to spare for small flat items.

All in all like this bag and can see getting many years of use out of it.  The bags come in grey, black, coyote, ranger green, and Marine blue.   Price is $54.95, some may feel this a bit steep but I can see multiple applications for this bag and anticipate a long life span from it just like my Frequent Flier belt.
