I covered one of the many Crate Club goodies a while back called the Madhouse Designs Single Pistol Mount. The idea of this system is to allow simple and secure placement of a handgun. It can be hidden, positioned in a safe, or in full display of the world to see. The system is a three-piece design that comes together in about 10 seconds. The base, the rod, and the swivel body.
If you read my initial first look at the Madhouse Designs Single Pistol mount you’d know all this. When I finally got a chance to install it I chose my nightstand. Initially, I was going to use my desk but decided against it because I’m in my bedroom more than my office.
Installing Madhouse Designs Single Pistol mount
The kit itself is ridiculously simple to assemble and to install. Once assembled I measure how far back it needed to be on my nightstand to conceal my pistol. I double checked it with the gun, made a mark with a pencil and got my drill and two wood screws.
Drill met screw and in about two seconds the entire kit was installed. It took me longer to find my wood screws then it did to install the dang thing. In fact, it took me longer to clean off my nightstand than to install the system.
Every night for the last week my Magnum Research MR9 has sat on post fully loaded with my Streamlight TLR at the ready. The Madhouse design single pistol mount’s multiple angles make it easy to customize how the weapon sits for presentation. Even though my bed is higher than my nightstand I can access my weapon while laying in my bed.
The Madhouse Design Single pistol mount is a gun control system that I can get behind. It controls my weapon until I need to take control.
