Prometheus Design Werx Invictus Auto MIL-LE folder

March 18, 2018 by Scott Witner Leave a Comment

Prometheus Design Werx Invictus Auto MIL-LE folder

When I’m looking for a folding knife to carry every day and actually use, I do look for a few characteristics. First, I look for a spearpoint blade profile. I prefer the spearpoint blade profile on any knife that may be used for personal protection. Second, the blade length needs to be a minimum of 3.25″, but not more than 3.5″. This again comes back to personal protection. I want to ensure that I can reach vital organs with the blade if it comes down to a violent confrontation. Fourth, I look at the clip orientation. Although I typically do not clip knives to my pocket, if I do I want the blade to be oriented in a tip-up fashion when clipped to my pocket. By having the blade in this orientation, I can draw and deploy the blade faster and smoother.

Looking at the above criteria I mentioned, I found that the Prometheus Design Werx Invictus auto folder meets all those requirements. Yes, it is an auto knife, so you’ll need to ensure that it is legal to own where you live.

The Invictus auto folder feels very secure in the hand and has a nice heft too it. It just feels like a robust quality built folder. Even though the handle is anodized aluminum, it still exhibits great retention compared to other knives using the same handle material. As for the 3.5″ blade itself, well it just screams bad ass with the spearpoint blade profile, 154CM steel and being made in the USA.

Rumor also has it that Kyle Defoor will be awarding a few of these knives to the top shooters of a few of his courses in 2018. For those of you that follow Kyle Defoor, know that he is a huge advocate for fixed blade knives, so the fact that he has approved of and is awarding a few of these to some dudes should tell you something about the Invictus.

“Invictus Auto folders will be given to winners of shooting tests during a couple of 2018 classes. It’s a quality handled USA made utility folder with correct clip orientation and sufficient belly and spine to do most modern knife tasks.” – Kyle Defoor

“A superlative edged tool without compromise made for those who serve and protect. Precision, Strength, Courage.” – PDW
