Next Level Training SIRT Pistol: Shoot Your Friends!

I’ve had the SIRT pistol for a long time now and every single time I pick it up, I am reminded of why it is one of the best training tools on the market. Use Discount Code “ArmsGuide” (not case sensitive) and get 10% off your new SIRT There are also some great training videos […]

The Sig 320 X-Five is the flagship of the 320 X-Series. Sig calls it the "pinnacle for competition." It is chambered in 9mm or .40 S&W and ready for a match right out of the box. The X-5 has been upgraded with every feature a boy could want: a five-inch match barrel, flat trigger, fully adjustable sights, detachable flared magazine well, integrated grip weight, extended beavertail, undercut trigger guard, extended slide catch lever and optic ready. I got the 9mm model and I am not disappointed. The gun looks great, the slide has three lightning cuts on top and grasping grooves in the slide that are straight and aligned with the grip angle. To top it all off, each P320 X-Five includes four (4) 21rd steel magazines. It comes in a nice foam fitted Sig pistol box. I wanted the P320 X-Five 9mm because it incorporates all of the features I wanted to maximize accuracy, and ergonomics while maintaining the modularity of the P320 platform. You can buy a cheap gun ad up grade it, but you never know if the parts are going to work well together. The X-Five is ready on arrival. The X-Series grip module has a deep trigger guard undercut, a high back strap and an extended beavertail which combined with the flared mag well exactly form to my hand. This gives me a high grip for great recoil management. The removable grip weight lets me tweak the balance to exactly where I want it. The X-Five has a straight trigger that helps the shooter get a consistent set and press. It breaks at 90 degrees for an even better feeling pull. Dawson Precision® Fiber Optic sights are my favorite. The colored post draws the eye and the wide rear notch lines up fast and provides a very precise picture. The rear sights are fully-adjustable. As if that wasn't good enough, there is more. The X-Five pistol is optics-ready right out of the box. The rear sight plate can be removed as a unit and replaced with a ROMEO1 red dot optic. Some Thoughts on Guns With Lights

Modern firearms often come equipped with rails to accept, well, anything that may fit on them. A lot of people feel that a firearm is not complete without a light. We know there are tons of vendors willing to sell you lots of things you don’t need. The “lightweight rifle” won’t remain that way if […]

Stag Arms Model 4: One for the Vets!

Stag Arms Model 4: One for the Vets!

As we grow we tired of the over-accessorized and video-game inspired black rifle, Stag Arms has a model to take us back.  The Model 4 is built with inspiration from the real war fighter with features akin to the M16A2 and A3 models.  Devoid of acronyms and buzzwords the Model 4 pays tribute to what […]

Beginner’s Guide to Reloading: The Progressive Press

Beginner’s Guide to Reloading: The Progressive Press

Still working out what the best reloading equipment is for you? Single stage and turret presses are good options for low volume production, but the most sophisticated type of reloading press is the progressive press. In a turret press, a single case is held in a case (shell) holder and the various dies are rotated […]

Marlin 336 30-30: An All Purpose Lever Gun

Marlin 336 30-30: An All Purpose Lever Gun

Lever action rifles may not be the best option for anything anymore. That may or may not be debatable, but they seem to be a good option for almost everything. You can debate with me about that all you want, and I’ll just nod and smile. Here on the East Coast of the good ol’ […]

Aguila Minishells: More Rounds and Less Recoil

Aguila Minishells: More Rounds With Less Recoil

The shotgun is an excellent tool for home defense, but if you could double your gun’s ammo capacity and reduce recoil without making any alterations to your gun, wouldn’t you take advantage of it? Aguila’s Minishells make such a promise. The Minishells yielded a considerable reduction in felt recoil. This could prove to be a significant […]

CTS Target: The Ring of Steel

CTS Target: The Ring of Steel

I was standing in what looked to be a cowboy town made out of fence post lumber, and I was being directed to shoot the steel targets in front of me. The place was a range called Tac2 in East TN. The targets were in various configurations; I recall a steel plate rack, some silhouettes, […]

CMMG AR15 Conversion Kit

CMMG AR15 .22 Conversion Kit: Quality, Precision and Value

There was a time in the not so recent past that .22 LR ammunition was worth its weight in gold if you could find it. Hoarders and old men claiming that the apocalypse was around the corner drove the popular plinking round into $scarcity. Now that the hysteria and paranoia has subsided, shooters are once […]
