Professional Gear Reviews
When it comes to rugged, no-nonsense timepieces built for professionals, ARES Watch Co. has set the bar high. In this review, I’ll be diving deep into the ARES DIVER-1, testing its durability, precision, and real-world performance as a go-anywhere tactical dive watch. Meanwhile, SOFREP’s Managing Editor Guy McCardle will be sharing his thoughts on the […]
When it comes to tactical headgear, HardHeadVeterans (HHV) has positioned itself as a leading manufacturer, offering both bump and ballistic helmets designed for military, law enforcement, and civilian use. As of this year, HHV is also branching out into the safety world, with a rated hard hat made from Kevlar aptly called the Kevy. With so […]
If you spend any time in the field, under the waves, or just want a watch that’s not going to tap out after a hard day’s work, I humbly suggest the Citizen Promaster Dive. This thing is built like a Cold War bomb shelter, over-engineered, tough as nails, and ready to survive anything short of […]

Hudson Supplies Corp isn’t just slinging gear—it’s delivering rock-solid, field-tested essentials that law enforcement, tactical teams, and well-prepared citizens can count on when it matters most.
Women are always frustrated buying gifts for men, so here’s an easy button for all you gals out there who are as frustrated as a Navy guy in a strip bar in Thailand the day before payday. SOFREP’s picks for Holiday 2024 that make buying for the man in your life much easier. And guys, […]
Being in the Army while in the field can be difficult at times, with bad weather, inhospitable environments, no phone, no light/power, and no motor car (as the song used to say), among many other things. At least your days are planned for you and with enough activities you can forget some things like laundry. […]
