Bradford Knives Guardian 3

Bradford Knives Guardian 3

Bradford Knives is a small business that makes high-end blades out of Kent, Washington. They offer a variety of quality every day carry and outdoors style designs at reasonable prices. I, being a big fan of small utilitarian type knives, recently acquired their Guardian 3. The Guardian 3 has a beefy design capable of immense leverage but also able to attack […]

Davis Tactical Kydex holsters

Davis Tactical Kydex holsters

If you need an affordable Kydex holster there are a lot of options out there. I needed something that wasn’t going to cost an arm and I could get relatively quickly on short notice. After perusing eBay, viewing the various makes and styles offered, I landed on a holster produced by Davis Tactical. I ordered an inside the […]

SOF Selection PT Preparation

Special Operations Forces Selection PT Preparation Week 6, Day 4

Special Operations Forces Selection PT Preparation Week 6, Day 4 Happy Hump Day, it is back and shoulders day at the gym. Then a 5-mile rucksack march. Ensure that your second pair of boots are well broken in. Remember to stay hydrated while on the march, especially so in the cold weather, you’ll not want to drink […]

Don’t rely on gear to get you selected or succeed on a team

Don’t rely on gear to get you selected or succeed on a team

Wars and battles were fought and won before the cool gloves that can work a smartphone. Special Operators are gear junkies. For that niche product line of tactical gear and clothing, SOF personnel are the ultimate consumers. It’s a kind of fashion for operators. Even the kind of gloves you buy and wear can distinguish […]

Origin Watch Company merges modern watchmaking with historical field watch roots

Origin Watch Company merges modern watchmaking with historical field watch roots

Trench and field watches played a vitally important role beginning with the first and second World Wars. Pilots, infantry officers, artillerymen, and many other military service roles relied on accurate timepieces to help them coordinate precise attacks and maneuvers.  Considering the technological advances that we now have the luxury of, there is less of a […]

SOF Selection PT Preparation

Special Operations Forces Selection PT Preparation Week 6, Day 3

Special Operations Forces Selection PT Preparation Week 6, Day 3 Tuesday is Leg Day at the gym, our favorite, but we’ll begin with pull-ups and towel pull-ups for those who don’t have access to ropes for climbing. The squats and lunges build up the strength in your lower body for carrying a rucksack, which is […]

The Bark River Northstar EDC knife

The Bark River Northstar EDC knife

There are a lot of great everyday carry fixed-blade knives out there, and being the closet blade nut that I am, I’m always excited to get my hands on a new knife. A recent early Christmas gift from an old friend has landed me a second-hand Bark River Northstar, and man this thing is awesome. There’s something that’s […]

Mean Gene Leather ‘Victory Aegis’ belt

Mean Gene Leather ‘Victory Aegis’ belt

A good belt is something that’s hard to settle on and with the vast array of options, styles and brands out there it’s hard to decide on what to get. Enter Mean Gene Leather, a small company that produces several high-quality leather products too include holsters and magazine pouches, but their flagship products are definitely their belts. They offer a […]

SOF Selection PT Preparation

Special Operations Forces Selection PT Preparation Week 6, Day 2

Special Operations Forces Selection PT Preparation Week 6, Day 2 Happy New Year, but in our Selection preparation, a good rule to follow is “No Days Off”, Okay, I’m stealing that from Bill Belichick, but it is apt. So, if your head is feeling a bit fuzzy after welcoming in the New Year, we have […]

Loadout Room photo of the day | Winter riding gear – boots

I use the Sidi All Roads boots. Full Goretex liner, good protection throughout, resole-able and they’ll go over or under any pants. I’ve personally used them at 25 degrees for two-plus hours at 80+ MPH with only a normal Darn Tough Vermont wool sock and had no issues. Buy once. Courtesy of Defoor Proformance
