Bindle Bottle

Bindle Bottle | A fresh idea on daily hydration

Water bottles have become a daily sidekick for people on the go. Wether you’re headed to a morning workout, the office or a hike in the woods, most likely, a water bottle will be a necessary item. With so many high quality water bottles available, it becomes difficult to differentiate the choices. A quick search […]

Patrick Gibbons

Patrick Gibbons Hand Made belts | Exotic hides for all occasions

One of my passions is golfing. Although my golf game is fairly solid, my wardrobe needs some work. So a few years back, my wife reached out to Patrick Gibbons to craft a patriotic themed belt for me. For the past 7 years on Labor Day weekend, I play in a tournament at Treetops Resort […]

DC FLT Line

DC FLT Line Roller by 5.11 | Luggage I can live with

We are a tribe of travelers. As a child in a military family, we were constantly on the move. And always had to travel to visit our stationary relatives. This mobile theme has carried on to my family as well. My oldest son was flying the friendly skies at the ripe age of 5 weeks […]

Hendrick’s Gin and Tonic | My go to summer drink

The dog days of summer. My favorite time of year in Northern Michigan. Surrounded by crystal clear glacial lakes, golf courses, vast forests and 10pm sunsets. I’m not going to lie, it’s pretty hard to beat. The winters, however, are a completely different story and I don’t want to get into that now. As the […]

Flex Hike

Adidas Flex Hike Pants | Review

Adidas is a German multinational company that has been producing high quality footwear and outdoor gear since 1949. Following a family feud with his older brother Rudolf who founded Puma, Adolf Dassler started Adidas and the brothers quickly became rivals in business. Ironically, both Puma and Adidas are still headquartered in the same German town of Herzogenaurach. […]

Rumpl Original Shammy

Original Shammy Towel by Rumpl | Incredibly small yet hugely absorbent

One thing I never pack when traveling to the islands or anywhere warm for that matter is a beach towel. The conventional terry cloth beach towels are pretty bulky when folded up and are a “no-go” when we’re traveling light. My wife and I typically bring a roller carry-on and towels never make the cut. […]

5.11 Ignitor Backpack | Initial Impression

5.11 Ignitor Backpack | Initial Impression

For the past couple of years, I’ve searched for a sleek, functional backpack that I can strap my long range rifle to. A pack that will carry the load I need into the wood-line for hunting or a day at the range. I recently got my hands on a 5.11 Ignitor Backpack that on paper, […]

Outdoor Retailer

Outdoor Retailer Summer Market 2018 | Recap

Outdoor Retailer Summer Market is the culmination of all the major outdoor brands showcasing what they have in their development pipeline. And I’m like a kid in a candy store at this show. If you’re into outdoor gear, this is the place to be. It’s an REI hopped up on steroids. Each year, the Loadout […]

Wyldcat Pants

Wyldcat Pant by 5.11 Tactical | Country or City Girl?

The 5.11 Tactical Wyldcat Pants are well-suited for today’s woman, whether she’s a country girl or a city girl. I know because I put them to the test. As a native of Northern Michigan, I’d definitely say I’m a country girl at heart. But, what draws a country-girl into the city? A.) The chance to […]

Lifesaver Jerrycan

Lifesaver Jerrycan | Clean water for off the grid living

The past two summers have exposed me to the whole Overland movement. Exploring and camping right out of my Toyota Tundra. With any capable four wheel drive vehicle, one can not only explore the beauty of this country, but less accessible areas close to home. With a nice stretch of favorable weather, my 14 year […]
