Stable Out to 3000 yards? Nikon MONARCH 3000 Rangefinder

June 5, 2018 by The Arms Guide Guest Writer Leave a Comment

You may recall when we broke the news about Nikon’s new MONARCH 3000 stabilized rangefinder.  In the months since our original post some other reviews have come out and they are impressive.

Nikon…STABILIZED…3000

Those three words tell it all.  Over 100 years of optical design, a stabilized image and the ability to range targets out to 3,000 yards. Did I say 3,000 yards? Yes I did and we will get into that later, because it can actually be more than 3,000 yards.

You might be asking yourself how much this rangefinder what a rangefinder like this costs. We all know that you can get a decent rangefinder for around $200, or spend much more for more powerful rangefinders that cost over $600. Nikon is priced the MONARCH 3000 at just $420. If you want image stabilization in your rangefinder, as everyone should have, you can only get it from Nikon. They are the only optics company that has image stabilization technology in their rangefinders.

If image stabilization is not important to you, try walking 10 miles with 30 pounds of gear on your back at 5,000 feet, then pull your rangefinder out and range a target at long distances.  Even if you’re sitting still at a bench, lazing longer-range targets isn’t easy.  While your hand wanders it’s easy to accidentally range a target that appears just next to your intended targets, but in reality is dozens of yard behind or in front of it.

Ranging a 3,000 yards target sounds about impossible, but with the Nikon it’s possible.  See the video below in which  Sportmansnewstv ranges past 3,000 yards!

Your eyes are not deceiving you, the readout is 3,602. Try finding a rangefinder that ranges 3,000 yards, has image stabilization, and clear optics for under $450. You won’t find it, I tried.

Beyond literally going the distance the rangefinder comes with slope technology, Red OLED display, Hyper read technology (means its fast), 8 second scan mode, and is water proof and fog proof.
