Everyday Carry: Rogers Rail Lite

October 11, 2014 by Mark Miller 4 Comments

Rogers Rail Lite Reviewed

The single most overlooked item for everyday carry is the lowly flashlight. Not as sexy as the multitool, you don’t need it much, but when you do need it, there is no substitute. The Rogers Rail Lite (RRL) is a very small multi-purpose light which is so easy to carry, it removes all your excuses.

The Rogers Rail Lite quickly installs on the integrated Picatinny/1913 rail of most modern handguns and rifles. It can be installed and removed quickly without placing your hand in front of the muzzle. This allows the Rail Lite to be quickly disengaged to provide light in a no-risk scenario.

I have carried this every day for several weeks and used it at the range. While not as bright as some of the high-dollar super lights, I don’t carry those around because they are too heavy and bulky. The Rogers light is just right and is easy to keep with me even when I’m wearing only shorts and flip flops.

The system uses the Streamlight Microstream featuring their Super Bright C4 LED. Ruggedly overbuilt, it features an unbreakable polycarbonate lens and a machined aluminum body. It is water-resistant with a limited lifetime warranty. Battery, replacement tail cap, and lanyard included.

The light can be activated with a momentary switch activated by the support-hand thumb. It may also be used in constant-on for one-handed operation. The mount can be assembled for right- or left-handed use.

The Rail Lite is small enough to slip into a pocket comfortably, or clip onto clothing or a hat with the Microstream’s durable pocket clip.

This offers some alternatives to traditional handgun light illumination.

This little light is very bright for its size, uses widely available AAA batteries, and is light enough to carry all the time. It can be quickly installed on your gun and removed without bulky mounts or special holsters.

It is perfect for everyday concealed carry.

Rogers Rail Lite features:

  • Fits on any Picatinny/1913 rail
  • Ambidextrous design
  • Positions the tail on/off switch right at shooters forward thumb
  • Easy slide on, click off installation
  • Extremely light weight
  • Made of a heavy duty polymer
  • Extended warranty

Price: $34.95 from on Holsterops.com
