New at SHOT Show 2017: The Hudson H9

The Hudson H9 was officially rolled out today at SHOT Show 2017 during Industry Day at the Range. Readers all over the internet have been viewing this new pistol and wondering what exactly it is. Whatever it turns out to be one thing is certain, the Hudson H9 is a polarizing pistol to say the least. What we know about the Hudson H9 comes mostly from press releases, that was until today.

Here is a small sample of what we know about the Hudson H9

  • Uses a 1911 style trigger
  • Takes a high capacity 15+1 double stack magazine
  • Comes standard with VZ grips
  • Trijicon front sight
  • Lower backstrap designed and made by Hogue Inc. out go G10 material
  • Coated in black nitride finish
  • Manufactured in Texas
  • 15+1 Capacity

The pistol certainly captures a gun enthusiasts imagination in a hurry, but until today it everything about it was a myth or just a rumor. We here at The Arms Guide were lucky enough to get a chance to talk to the folks at Hudson Mfg and bring you these images from their press hand out. A small image in the file listed the pistols specifications which are as follows.

Specifications:

Name: Hudson H9

Caliber: 9mm

Length: 7.625″

Width: 1.24

Height: 5.225″

Barrel Length: 4.28″

Trigger pull: 4.75 to 5 lbs

Weight: 34 oz (No Mag)

Trigger Travel:  .115″

We hoped you enjoyed this quick look of the images and some of the actual specifications of this new pistol. There are a huge list of questions that we are attempting to find the answers to with the pistol. As soon as we can get any more information from the Hudson Manufacturing reps who are sure to be swamped this year at the show, we will be sure to run to our laptops and get the information out to our readers. We know the week is going to be a long one full of lots of meetings and miles walked, but we hope to track down more leads to this pistol and the may others that we have on our list over the next four days.

What do you think of the Hudson H9 ? do you think it will pan out or just be another pistol that captures shooters imaginations for a few weeks or months and then fade away? The firearms world is highly unpredictable and seems to be always changing, I know its early in the year but for some reason I have a very positive feeling about how the Hudson H9 will pan out.
