Hexmag introduced themselves with an AR 15 magazines that had a bit of a new gimmick. The body of the magazine was textured with small hexagons. These hexagons initially would act of a simple textured surface. They featured self-lubricating anti tilt followers, and they make a variety of colored followers that act as ammunition identifiers. They just so happened to offer a lifetime warranty for their magazines. Well, Hexmag didn’t rest and have been pumping out a lot of new and fascinating products. Here are a few new products we were happy to get our hands on.
The Hexmag AR grip
This was one I was pleasantly surprised with and had a chance to review right after Shot Show here. (Please forgive the bad photos.) Long story short this is an adaptable grip that can be set at three different angles. These angles are 17 degrees, 25 degrees, and 33 degrees. The grip itself is also textured with the familiar Hexmag Hexagons.
They also produce a stationary Tactical Grip outfitted with the Hexagons for a lower price.
Grip Tape
Those Hexagons fitted into the magazines and AR grips are designed to be textured for a more sure grip. You can also increase that grip through the use of grip tape. Hexmag produces a series of rubberized grip tape panels you can apply to both the magazines and the AR grip. They are very adhesive and are extremely strong and durable. They are waterproof, easy to apply and come in both Black and Grey.
Rail Covers
Lastly, Hexmag now produces two sets of rail covers for Picatinny, MLOK, and Keymod rail systems. These soft rubber rail covers add a degree of comfort and improve your grip on your weapon.
They fill in the gaps on the rails where you aren’t attaching accessories. I’ve come to enjoy both the look and comfort these systems provide and have outfitted three weapons with these rail covers.
On my AR they’ve proven to be the most comfortable with my lightweight Midwest keymod rail when firing high volume. They help my precious hands from getting toasty.
The Future
The next step for Hexmag seems to be hitting the Glock market. They are now producing Glock magazines in 9mm with their patented Hexagon texture. I’m personally pumped to see another high-end company producing magazines for the Glock platform.
