Shadow Systems Releases Combat Special Glock 19 Slide, in Partnership with OpticsPlanet

Plano, TX (June, 2018) – Shadow Systems, a US-based manufacturer of Glock compatible parts and accessories, is proud to announce the release of the ‘Combat Special’ Glock 19 Slide, available exclusively through OpticsPlanet.

The G19 OpticsPlanet Combat Special Slide w/Cover Plate is engineered to maximize the function and handling characteristics of your Glock G19 pistol. Machined from hardened 17-4 stainless steel, the slide features aggressively raked front and rear serrations, weight reducing window and pocket cuts, and precisely executed chamfers and radiuses throughout. The Combat Special also features an optics mount cut for the Trijicon RMR miniature red dot sight.

The slides are coated in cutting edge hard-use finishes–DLC is renowned for its hardness, lubricity, and deep black color. Our new PVD FDE finish is chemically identical to the finish chosen for the Army’s new modular handgun program. Not simply Cerakote, this is a chemically bonded PVD finish that is substantially tougher than conventional epoxy type finishes. Includes hardcoat anodized cover plate, cover plate screws, and RMR mounting screws.

“We’re excited to be partnering with Optics Planet on this product.  Their input into the design helped us create a slide that looks great but is built tough enough for serious work.  We are looking forward to doing other products with the OpticsPlanet team in the future.” – Trevor Roe – General Manager, Shadow Systems

The Combat Special slide is currently shipping in a Gen 3 configuration, with Gen 4 to follow shortly.
