Perseverance Survival Woobie (AKA Poncho Liner) Hoodie

Perseverance Survival Woobie (AKA Poncho Liner) Hoodie

A couple months back I saw a post by former Recon Marine Rudy Reyes about a friend of his, a former Marine Scout Sniper, who was selling hoodies made of poncho liner material.  Now anyone who has served in the Army or Marines knows that the poncho liner AKA Woobie (I’m old school and always knew it as a poncho liner) is one of the greatest military inventions ever; lightweight, warm, and compressible to a small ball. It’s been a brutal winter and a few times I broke out my old M65 field jacket which has a liner of the same material. So when I saw the advertisements for the woobie hoodie I thought that it would be a perfect piece of kit to wear under my old school Army Woodland camo Gortex jacket and ordered one in Multicam. Since receiving it I’ve been testing it out in a couple different modes.

During a fun New Jersey day of wintery mix weather I wore it under my Gortex, on a 40+ degree windy day I wore it with my Wild Things Gear Wind Shirt and other times just by itself over a T-shirt or long sleeve base layer shirt. The first thing you notice is that this garment provides instant warmth. It fits true to size, I wear an XL and the fit is perfect. There is a kangaroo pocket on the front in traditional hoodie style. What I also like about this hoodie is the lightweight and the ability to stuff it into the smallest spaces in my pack. They are currently available in Multicam, coyote, Marpat, and in Preorder for woodland camo.

The only thing I’d like to see added is a zipper to secure the kangaroo pocket and black or grey added to the color choices. Price is $52.95 and worth every cent in my opinion.

The Perseverance Survival Woobie can be found HERE
