Outdoor Retailer 2017 | Camelbak

Outdoor Retailer 2017 | Camelbak

Between my scheduled appointments today I decided to swing by Camelbak to see what was going on in the world of hydration. One of the newest packs out right now is the Camelbak Urban Assault which was just released a few months ago. I personally purchased that pack to use for this trip as my one and only bag. It’s a great option for minimalist travelers.

The other product we looked at are the newly designed water bottle and lids. Enter the Camelbak Chute.

The new caps are designed to stow away when opened so that you don’t have the cap moving around in your face when trying to get a drink of water. Yes it’s a very small and simple upgrade, but it was a needed one. I’m going to be upgrading to the new Camelbak water bottle design very soon. If you already have a Camelbak bottle and just want to upgrade the cap, you have that option too.

Something new I learned about Camelbak is that they work closely with the military when it comes to testing and evaluation of new gear. They recently sent some of their hydration packs to the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center for the Marines to use and give feedback on. While we were talking to the rep at Camelbak he was actually waiting on a group of Army SF guys to come in to discuss product testing and evaluation. That alone tells you the quality you’re dealing with when purchasing Camelbak products.
