Marmot Ultimate Ski Glove

February 1, 2017 by Erik Meisner 1 Comment

Marmot Ultimate Ski Glove

The most common complaint I hear from skiers isn’t about their uncomfortable boots or the turn radius of their skis; it’s typically regarding the temperature of their fingers and toes. Frostbite will attack the extremities as blood flow is consolidated towards the core of the body during prolonged exposure to cold. The Marmot Ultimate Ski Glove will do its part to help defend against those bitter temperatures and keep them from reaching your digits.

New gloves.

These gloves have been on the market for more than 15 years and have undergone minor improvements over that time, but the quality construction and warmth have gone unchanged.

I’ve been using various iterations of this glove for 15-plus years in extreme environments, including alpine climbing, backcountry skiing, and camping. The Gore-Tex shell insert with PrimaLoft One insulation keep your hands toasty and dry while the rugged cowhide leather palms maintain dexterity and withstand the abuse of handling ropes and equipment.

My original pair of Marmot Ultimate Ski Gloves have remained in my ski bag for 15 years, which demonstrates the long-term durability and quality of this product. My only complaint about the newest version is the exclusion of the soft fabric on the back of the thumb for wiping your snotty nose or clearing your goggles, leading me to believe that Marmot owns stock in Kleenex now.

All in all, the Marmot Ultimate Ski Gloves are well worth the premium price tag of $175, as they will quickly become your favorite mitt and will truly stand the test of time.
