Faxon Firearms .308 AR barrels on sale for Memorial Day

April 25, 2016 by Mark Miller Leave a Comment

Faxon Firearms, the guys famous for the ARAK-21, have a great line of rifle barrels. They are having a Memorial Day Sale this weekend offering 10% off site wide, with 15% off all .308 barrels. Now is the time to buy!

Memorial Day Sale -1

I have been working on a budget .308 AR rifle project with Tridentis Tactical.  The center piece is the Faxon AR10 308 18 inch Medium contour Barrel.  It provides quality at a great value.  Barrels are one of the places you can’t cut corners in a build.

My first impression was that the finish was perfect, a work of art.  The fit to the Tridentis billet upper receiver was very good, tight enough to be accurate, no so snug we had to fight it in.

At a weight of 2.28 pounds, it has more heft than a pencil barrel without the front heavy pain of a match barrel.  Perfect for a gun you are going to carry around.  Ounces make pounds, pounds bring pain.

Initial testing has groups at 1.5 MOA with Federal Match ammo. Expect more on this later.

The barrel features:

    • Barrel Material: 4150 QPQ
    • Barrel Type: Button Rifled
    • Barrel Caliber: .308 WIN
    • Barrel Twist: 1:10
    • Barrel Length: 18”
    • Barrel Profile: Medium – Tapered
    • Barrel Gas System: Mid
    • Inside Finish: QPQ Salt Bath Nitride
    • Outside Finish: QPQ Salt Bath Nitride
    • Muzzle Thread: 5/8-24 TPI
    • Gas Block Diameter: .750″
    • Gas Port Diameter: .081″
