Fighting knives come in all sizes. You got the classics like the Bowie knife and the Ka-Bar. They are characterized by their size and ability to both hack and slash. You travel in the opposite direction of that spectrum, and you find something like the Ka-Bar TDI Investigator. While it’s small, it’s still lethal as […]
If someone ever tells you nice watch at a urinal you may want that watch to be the ParaClaw CQD watch. I mean, it might be a compliment, but if its make creep than compliment at least you’ll have a knife on hand. Literally on hand, or well, on the wrist. The ParaClaw series from […]
Many skills when it comes to the outdoors are perishable. If you don’t practice those skills or use them regularly, you’ll lose your edge and that could cost your life depending on the situation. One of those simple skills is knowing how much daylight you have left before the sun sets. Nowadays we have technology […]
Fire is life. It’s cooks our food, it keeps us warm, it drives away the darkness in which we sometimes find ourselves. There’s something incredibly calming, almost meditative, about sitting in front of a crackling blaze. We stare at it intently, slowly getting lost in the flames. On a nice sunny day, I decided to take Loki (my Wirehair Pointing Griffon) for a trip to the beach. The family and I decided on the Sequalitchew (try to say it out loud) Creek Trail. The trailhead starts at the Depont city hall (WA) and descends towards the ocean for about 1.5 miles (3-mile […]
In designing the Vaer watch, we tried our best to focus on the features and functionalities beloved by wristwatch enthusiasts. While some of our design features, such as the metal case ring and back-loaded case design, are invisible to the untrained eye, there are other features that clearly define the product’s identity. One such feature […]
Technology can be both good as well as bad. Everywhere you look, people are walking with their face buried in their smartphones. Believe me, I have two teenage boys and it frustrates me how attached they are to this technology. Many times I’ve lost comms with my 14 year old because of a dead phone […]
