There isn’t a whole lot I can say about the Buck 112 Ranger LT folding knife. Conjure up an image of a stereotypical pocket knife, and this is what most would think of. A standard folder, clip blade with a thumbnail opener. The blade length sits right at 3 inches, and when closed the overall length is 4.25. Clearly, Buck heard the cries for a lighter and smaller version of their infamous Buck 110 Folder, and the 112 Ranger LT was born. They definitely hit the lightweight nail on the head, as this knife only comes in at 2.5oz. Super lightweight for anyone who doesn’t like to be weighed down by their equipment (myself included.) The steel is 420HC, which is a decent steel, commonly found among some of the low-mid level knife models. The awesome thing about this knife is that it is made in America, something not always found among other knife manufacturer’s lower end models. It comes with a sheath which is pretty standard among most of the Buck Knives, but I still would like to see a pocket clip option put into all of their folders.
Overall, this is as “pocket knife” as it gets and would be a great addition to just have around the house, a first-time knife for a young one, or to toss in your pocket without worrying too much about losing too much money if it inevitably gets lost, as all knives do.
