Ajita Sherer

Ajita Sherer Ajita Sherer spent eight years on active duty in the U.S. Air Force and currently serves as an employee of the DoD, dedicating his career to Combat Rescue. As an engine troop and later a Flying Crew Chief on CSAR C-130Js, he deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan in support of SOF missions, often serving as the sole mechanic on aircraft deep in contested environments. Working closely with Air Force Pararescue (PJs), JTACs, and Combat Controllers, as well as Navy SEALs, Army Rangers, and our sister country's Tier 1 units, he provided direct support to some of the military’s most demanding rescue and combat operations. He is most proud of his role in real-world rescue missions in Operation Inherent Resolve, saving lives and delivering trauma care to SOF teams and Marine Task Force Lion. Now an Aerospace Propulsion curriculum developer, Sherer is solely responsible for developing curriculum and training the next generation of engine system maintainers on more than 70% of all Air Force aircraft, to include his former CSAR platforms.

Vakarian Plate Carrier Review: Elite Comfort and Modularity for Under $300

Built Like a Spartan, Worn Like a Ghost  There’s a scene in Halo: Reach, right before everything goes completely sideways, where Noble Team gets ready to make their last stand. Armor scarred. Visors cracked. Ready to die on their feet rather than live on their knees. That’s the kind of energy the Vakarian Plate Carrier […]

Too Tough to Die: The M14

Some rifles fade into obscurity. Others refuse to go quietly. Then there’s the M14…the Cold War warhorse that refused retirement, kept punching past its prime, and earned a cult following among shooters, soldiers, and salty old marksmen alike. Born in the shadow of the M1 Garand and overshadowed by the M16, the M14 is that […]

CIVIVI RS71 Review : Big Blade Energy

Some knives are tools. Others are toys, the samurai sword you show off to Jeff from down the street. The CIVIVI RS71? It’s both, with the attitude of a dive knife, the action of a fidget spinner that just shotgunned three Red Bulls, and the build quality of something twice the price. This thing doesn’t […]

Tommy Gun Madness: The Thompson Submachine Gun

How one brutally effective American icon bridged Prohibition and World War – and became one of the loudest symbols of American firepower. Before Delta carried suppressed MP5’s, before Marines stacked bodies in Fallujah with M16’s, there was a time when American warfighters waded into battle with 10 pounds of walnut and steel. Slinging .45 caliber […]

M60 Pig: America’s Jungle-Eating, Belt Fed Freedom Machine

It weighed over 20 pounds, jammed when it felt like it, and chewed through belts of 7.62 NATO like a chainsaw on meth…but for the American warfighter in Vietnam, the M60 was more than just a machine gun. It was an iron pig that ate communism for breakfast. Birth of a Beast Born out of […]

HOP Munitions 9mm and .300 Blackout Ammo Review

American Made Excellence You know what I love? When something unexpected just works, no drama, no disappointment, just pure performance. That’s exactly what I found shooting HOP Munitions’ polymer-coated 9mm and .300 Blackout rounds. Now, full honesty: before this, I had never shot polymer-tipped ammo. I wasn’t sure what to expect, maybe a lot of […]

Breek Arms Sledgehammer: The AR-15 Charging Handle That Gas Can’t Touch

There are few things more frustrating than sending rounds downrange with your favorite suppressed AR-15, only to get a hot faceful of carbon gas like you’re LARPing as a chimney sweep in a Victorian coal mine. (Insert flashes of that nutty rooftop Mary Poppins scene here.) Enter the Breek Arms Sledgehammer Charging Handle, a finely […]

Trijicon ACOG: The Ultimate GWOT Optic

The ACOG didn’t earn its place through flash or hype—it earned it by showing up, holding zero, and never quitting, no matter how bad things got.

Civivi Brazen Review: The Best Budget EDC Knife under $75?

Not every knife needs to be the main character. Flashy, all dressed up, and sparkling with superhuman power and costuming. Some blades aren’t here to steal the scene, they’re just here to get work done. That’s the CIVIVI Brazen in a nutshell. It’s not trying to be your next family heirloom, or something you’ll cry […]
