Ally One Armor By Angel Armor | First Look

Ally One Armor By Angel Armor | First Look

The civilian defensive world is constantly changing. Due to the increase of concealed carriers, possibly the increase in veterans, and in general the increase of prepared people has given us more and more options for enhanced everyday carry. This doesn’t just include firearms and knives, but medical kits and even armor. I recently received a panel of Angel Armor’s Ally One armor. Colored me impressed…so far.

The Ally One Armor Specs

The Ally One Armor is a 9 x 12-inch ballistic soft armor panel. It exceeds NIJ standards for multiple handgun round protection even though it is superbly light and thin. It’s designed to be fit into a bag and provide basic ballistic protection in an emergency. It can fit in most briefcases, in backpacks, and as I found out my Tactical Tailor Concealed Carry Sling Bag.

This is clearly not go to war armor. It’s made for defensive use, and to give a concealed carrier a lifesaving chance to escape or if necessary engage. When packed correctly you are basically carrying cover with you everywhere you go.

It weighs less than a pound and is a hair less than a quarter inch thick. It disappears even in the smallest of bags. It’s really impressive you could pack this much potential in one little panel.

Ballistic Potential

Speaking of potential, the Ally One Armor panel is designed to stand up too fast-moving 9mm and is rated to 1400 feet per second from a 124-grain projectile. That’s the standard for light and fast, the standard for fat and powerful is 44 Magnum, semi wad cutter at 1,400 feet per second. It’s rated well for most common handgun ammunition.

The Ally One Armor panel is an interesting development for those who feel the need for a little protection without the need or ability to wear a vest. While it’s not for everyone there are a variety of mundane jobs that are actually quite dangerous. This includes your convenience store clerk, your Taxi Drivers. As someone who used to transports large sums of money for a business, I often felt vulnerable. I carried when legally allowed, but I wasn’t always legally allowed.  A defensive option may be the only option when your offensive options are limited.  The Ally One Armor offers people an opportunity to survive, and to run or fight.
