Kembativz Martial Arts Training

Kembativz Martial Arts Training

This past weekend (September 17 & 18, 2016) I attended the Second Kembativz Brand Slam Dance (KBSL) in Zagrab Croatia.  This years KBSD was attended by participants were from Croatia, Britain, Germany, Austria, Albania, Canada, and the USA.  Kembativz Brand is the training company of Kelly McCann former Marine Corp Special Mission Officer, Contractor, and owner of the Crucible Training Center.  I first trained with Kelly about two and a half years ago when my daughter and I attended his first civilian combatives class in Fredericksburg, Va.  I have been involved in martial arts off and throughout my life I finally found a methodology that could actually go from the training floor to the streets.  As Kelly puts it one of his training goals is for a person with little to no training to walk in on Saturday morning and when they leave on Sunday evening that they can respond to an attack in the 7/11 parking lot that night.  The Kembativz Brand methodology is based on fifteen principals and not specific techniques.  Principals such as Go Armed, Simplicity, and Incidental Striking are just a few.   It is powerful and aggressive, but with legal considerations build into the discussion.

The course builds skills and confidence that transition from open hand to edged defense/offense, short/long stick, handgun disarms, and conflict theory and avoidance.  The Slam Dance course is directed at Kembativz alumni or approved attendees.  Kelly and Michelle Ly put the group through the paces and worked with all attendees to improve their skills. The class is fast paced and not for the meek, expect to sweat, get banged up, bruised, and even bleed a little.  Inter student impacts are the norm.  An interesting and eye opening part of the course was where we the students were given a situation and had to develop responses based on the Kembativz principles and then conduct a teach back to the group.  Everyone succeeded in accomplishing their assignments and doing a teach back to the group.  I can say that after two days of training I feel like I’ve been hit by a train.  As I said I’ve trained in martial arts throughout my life and hold a second degree Black belt in in an established system.  I can honestly say I that I have more confidence in what I’ve learned at Kembativz in two days then I learned in all my other training to include my police academy training.  If your looking to be able to protect yourself and the people you care about I highly recommend attending a Kembativz Brand training course. http://www.kembativz.com
