SIG’s P320-M17: The Modular Handgun System for the Rest of Us

SIG SAUER has been teasing a civilian version of the U.S. Army’s M17 official service pistol for awhile now. The Army’s M-17 is a P320-based platform, selected for its uniquely innovative modularity, uncompromising performance and unmatched capability. Understandably, while the losers of the Modular Handgun System (MHS) competition have been selling the flat dark earth pistols […]

Simple Trigger Drill to Fix Flinching

Simple Trigger Drill to Fix Flinching

Adam Painchaud, director of the SIG Sauer Academy in New Hampshire, teaches a simple pistol drill that can improve your trigger-finger discipline and overall accuracy. If you know you’re flinching in anticipation of the shot, then work on correcting it by trying this drill. For the latest news or more information about self-defense in your […]

SIG P365

Pocket Sized Perfection? The SIG P365

The idea of shoving 10+1 rounds into a gun that has the approximate dimensions of a single stack seems like it’d be revolutionary. We all want easy to carry weapons, but we also all want lots and lots of ammo. The SIG P365 intends to provide with both an easy to carry gun and a […]

Galloway Precision appendix carry and compact holster review with the Sig Sauer P320

Galloway Precision appendix carry and compact holster review with the Sig Sauer P320

The Kydex holster market is fairly crowded and I am regularly searching for new features and better value in my holster options. Generally, the perfect holster comes down to personal preferences such as fit and flexibility, clips and mounting options, and possibly most importantly – cost. I have found that those carrying pistols with a […]

The SIG X-Five CO2 Pistol: Shoots Like a SIG Because it is One

On the SIG X-Five air pistol packaging it says it, “Shoots like a SIG because it is one.”  The remark on the packaging is accurate. The SIG X-Five air pistol is an excellent choice for learning, reducing the expenses of shooting, solving the problem of not having a location to shoot, or just for plain […]

The Sig 320 X-Five is the flagship of the 320 X-Series. Sig calls it the "pinnacle for competition." It is chambered in 9mm or .40 S&W and ready for a match right out of the box. The X-5 has been upgraded with every feature a boy could want: a five-inch match barrel, flat trigger, fully adjustable sights, detachable flared magazine well, integrated grip weight, extended beavertail, undercut trigger guard, extended slide catch lever and optic ready. I got the 9mm model and I am not disappointed. The gun looks great, the slide has three lightning cuts on top and grasping grooves in the slide that are straight and aligned with the grip angle. To top it all off, each P320 X-Five includes four (4) 21rd steel magazines. It comes in a nice foam fitted Sig pistol box. I wanted the P320 X-Five 9mm because it incorporates all of the features I wanted to maximize accuracy, and ergonomics while maintaining the modularity of the P320 platform. You can buy a cheap gun ad up grade it, but you never know if the parts are going to work well together. The X-Five is ready on arrival. The X-Series grip module has a deep trigger guard undercut, a high back strap and an extended beavertail which combined with the flared mag well exactly form to my hand. This gives me a high grip for great recoil management. The removable grip weight lets me tweak the balance to exactly where I want it. The X-Five has a straight trigger that helps the shooter get a consistent set and press. It breaks at 90 degrees for an even better feeling pull. Dawson Precision® Fiber Optic sights are my favorite. The colored post draws the eye and the wide rear notch lines up fast and provides a very precise picture. The rear sights are fully-adjustable. As if that wasn't good enough, there is more. The X-Five pistol is optics-ready right out of the box. The rear sight plate can be removed as a unit and replaced with a ROMEO1 red dot optic. Blackhawk Sportster Pistol Range Bag - Make Life Easy

Blackhawk Sportster Pistol Range Bag – Make Life Easy

Range bags make life so much easier. If you’ve built a dedicated range bag you really don’t know the level of convenience you are missing out on. I remember the days where I was shoving guns in the Tupperware they came with and putting ammo, ear and eye pro into a grocery bag. Times have […]

Math and Guns – How Math Can Improve Your Shooting

Math and Guns – How Math Can Improve Your Shooting

I’ll be the first to admit that I hate math – it never was my strong suit. However, visiting the range reminds me that math has “real life” applications, including improving your shooting. Long range shooters, like snipers, are especially aware of how mathematics and physics must be effectively employed to achieve accuracy. However, short […]

The Blackbeard Peacekeeper - A Low Pro Duty Belt

The Blackbeard Peacekeeper: A Low Profile Duty Belt

What’s weird about gun belts is they are both a piece of fashion and utility. Whenever you lean towards one way or another, you sacrifice certain things. A fashionable belt that supports a gun is almost never perfect regarding comfortable carry. Your limited belt holes often give you that slightly too tight or too loose […]

Modular Pistols : Are They The Future or A Fad

Modular pistols, are they the future of pistol development or are they just a passing fad like the GyroJet and the Heckler & Koch squeeze cocking P7M8 ? The modular pistols like the Sig Sauer P320 and P250 designs certainly turned some heads when they first came onto the scene but how serious of a […]
