Professional Gear Reviews
As some SOFREP readers may be aware, I didn’t start my journey into firearms as a Glock guy – in fact, the first legitimate firearm I ever purchased was by trusty old 1911. It took time, and the constant badgering of men with tactical experience and proficiency I respected to convince me that I needed to try […]
What is your self-defense protocol when you leave your house? Are you prepared to react in low light or dark conditions? What do you carry on your person to aid in your defense? These are questions everyone should be asking themselves, especially with all the violence we’ve seen happen around the world. These personal defense […]
It wouldn’t be the first time that Americans have been imprisoned in the UK, the most famous were the Americans that were imprisoned in Edinburgh Castle from 1776 to 1781 when the two nations were at war during the War of Independence; obviously imprisoned for not following the laws of the crown (Featured picture of […]
Oakley is one of those “jack of all trades” brands. They are obviously known for their sunglasses, but they produce a ton of different products. Boots, gloves, and bags, to name a few. Oakley has been a huge advocate for the military community and offers a great discount to veterans and first responders alike through […]
Multi-tools are are an EDC must for many of us. When folded and put away a traditional multi-tool is basically an oddly shaped rectangle. If you don’t mind carrying it in a belt pouch then this typically isn’t an issue. I personally hate things that aren’t guns on my belt, and I can’t carry via […]

From the first time I laid eyes on their blades at a […]
Just how often do hear about people going out on hikes and ending up being rescued by EMTs because they were ill prepared for Mother Nature’s tendency to f*&! up a good weekend of hiking? Way too often, if you ask me. Call it Bear Grylls Syndrome, but I’m always amazed at how light some […]
The Lum-Tec Combat B37 was my first foray into a watch using only the 24-hour format, and it did not disappoint. It is a simple but classy timepiece that has a subtle ruggedness to it. The B37 is limited to only 200 available for worldwide sale (each has a unique number on the case back), and at […]
I’ve never been a fan of gift shopping and I look for any opportunity to make that process easier. My preferred method is to take care of as much as possible in one shot. 5.11 Tactical is a great spot to do that; they offer a wide variety of men’s and women’s clothing, footwear, gear […]
The body armor industry has really exploded this year. In a short period of time, we’ve seen companies coming forward to meet the needs of civilians. Companies that realize this are producing armor that’s thinner, lighter, more capable and most importantly more affordable. I’ve started a project here at the Loadout Room to bring forward […]
