Tactical Assault Gear Padded Night Vision Utility Pouch

February 9, 2019 by Garand Thumb Leave a Comment

Tactical Assault Gear Padded Night Vision Utility Pouch

If you have ever had the privilege of wearing Night Vision Goggles (NVG’s) then you probably have experienced the neck strain associated with wearing them for too long. Depending on the op there is always a chance you may need to store your PVS-15’s or ANVIS-9’s or PVS-31’s if you’re super cool or whatever you happen to use. Night vision devices attached to your helmet when not in use are a huge pain. They severely degrade your ability to navigate doorways or other such obstacles. It’s for this reason that we need a good pouch to store them in.

Tactical Assault Gear Padded Night Vision Utility Pouch

Tactical Assault Gear has made a pouch designed to hold various different types of night visions systems with their Padded Night Vision Utility case. The case comes in either coyote brown or Multicam. It features rigid MOLLE on the back of the pouch to securely hold itself in place on your kit. It is constructed of durable 500 denier Invista Cordura nylon and features a removable closed cell foam that does not absorb water. The zipper is heavy-duty and features YKK zippers with dual zipper pulls.

In my time using the case I’ve found that it will fit a variety of different night vision systems, and essentially will encompass all modern devices with the exception of the GPNVG-18 and PVS-7’s. I primarily used the ANVIS-9 system or PVS-15’s when using the bag and found that the closed cell foam padding protected the night division devices exceptionally well. Further, the padding can be sized to the object which helped keep it from bouncing around or making noise when in the pouch. When not used with night vision devices I found it to be handy to hold a variety of mission-critical gear that needed to be accessed quickly.

A couple other users have noted that the pouch is useful for carrying firing assemblies for demolition charges, however, I’ve not had the ability to test that. The point of the pouch is that it carries my expensive equipment safely and securely. It protects it from the bumps that are common of field ops and allows me to quickly access my gear when needed. This pouch is a must have if you operate night vision equipment with any frequency. Tactical Assault Gear charges 69 bucks for the pouch as of this writing.
