Quick Look: 5.11 Tactical Range-Qualifier Bag

October 14, 2014 by Max Carter 1 Comment

5.11 tactical

The 5.11 Tactical range-qualifier bag comes with all the quality we have come to expect from 5.11. The bag has plenty of room inside for pistols, magazines, ammo, eye pro, hearing protection, cleaning kit, and more. The layout inside the bag is well thought out; it comes equipped with internal and external web platforms which allow the user to change around the layout.

There is a very handy removable basket-type bag which comes out of the main compartment, and a fold-down mat to use as a work area. There is a magnetic keeper to ensure that your gear stays in place and is not scattered all over when you open up the bag. The front panel has space for six mags, and they stay secure once in place. Even with two pistols inside, there is still room for protective glasses and hearing protection.

The shoulder strap is heavy-duty and stays on your shoulder with no slipping. Both ends of the bag have zip pockets for storing anything you need easy access to. One thing I think the bag is missing is the ability to lock the main compartment. The zips are too far apart to stick a padlock on.

I’d also like to see molle added to the sides. This absence is surprising, as a lot of other 5.11 kit makes good use of it. The bottom of the bag has four rubber grips to keep it slightly elevated off the ground. Overall, this is a well-thought-out bag with pockets for everything, and provides good storage for your equipment. It is also a pretty compact bag for the storage it offers. It is a great individual bag and easy to use with good functionality.
