MinuteMan Adjutant Deluxe Review

November 11, 2017 by Travis Pike 1 Comment

MinuteMan Adjutant Deluxe Review

Minuteman is likely best known for their high-end watches, and if you’ve heard of them you likely know how much they do for the veteran community. Before we dive into the Adjutant knife I want to remind folks that Minuteman watches donates 25% of their annual profits to veteran charities, including the Gary Sinise Foundation, the Special Operations Warrior Foundation and Fisher house. The Adjutant knife is the result of Minuteman and Former Ranger Justin Gingrich teaming up to make a high quality American made knife.

Looking at the Adjutant

The first thing that came to my mind was how simple the knife is. It’s a compact knife with a short and simple fixed blade. The simplicity is charming. It’s gentleman’s knife if you will. I really like my fixed blade knives and have taken to carrying a number of fixed blades as EDC knives. I really like the added strength of a fixed blade knife, and what’s often a larger more comfortable handle.

MinuteMan Adjutant Deluxe Review

What’s refreshing is the Adjutant’s size. The small blade makes it a short package. This is much more convenient for carrying purposes. I do still get the large thick grip I like from a fixed blade knife, and it’s a bit easier to carry.

Getting a Grip

The Adjutant comes in regular and deluxe versions. The model reviewed here is the deluxe version with G10 scales. The G10 scales gives the Adjutant a nice thick grip. Thick grips to me are a lot more comfortable when doing heavy and hard work. The Scales themselves are nice, and are mostly white with waves of blue.

MinuteMan Adjutant Deluxe Review

The knife is contoured to provide a natural and comfortable grip. The scales are removable to make the knife thinner and lighter, but I couldn’t imagine why anyone would do that. The grip is damn comfortable. It’s a bit short for my hands, kind of like a subcompact pistol with my pinky finger hanging off.

The Blade

The blade is made from 154 CM stainless steel. 154 CM is a tool steel that used on industrial goods. It’s a very strong steel that is pretty easy to sharpen, and holds an edge well. It’s a good steel for working knives because it is strong, but still holds an edge and is still easy to sharpen.

Overall the mini Minuteman Adjutant is a well made, good-looking compact knife. It’s suitable for EDC, and it looks good to display in a box. These knives are made to order and you see the difference between it and something mass-produced. It’s a product of love, and of a real craftsman. Check out Minuteman watches here, and Gingrich Tactical innovations here.
