April 01, 2019 – Colchester, UK – LifeSaver®, a UK-based manufacturer of portable and reusable water filtration systems, proudly announces a brand new product that revolutionizes community and off-grid water purification. Capable of producing more than 132,000 gallons of safe drinking water at the turn of a tap, the C1 offers the benefits of mass water purification for larger communities with the simplicity and efficiency of LifeSaver’s smaller devices.
Measuring approximately three feet long and less than ten inches tall, the C1 can easily be shipped and installed in even the most remote communities. Ideally suited for connection to overhead water storage tanks or municipal piped supplies where water quality may be compromised, its lightweight, robust construction and quick connect fittings make it ideal for emergency or disaster response. A single C1 unit will provide a community of 100 people daily drinking water for up to four and a half years, at a negligible cost per gallon. In addition, multiple C1 units can be daisy-chained together, running from the same source, in order to multiply the output of potable water.
“We developed the C1 to overcome some of the challenges we faced with deploying our much larger and heavier C2 units,” says Joe Lovegrove, Technical and Operations Director at LifeSaver. “Now we can provide these communities with long term solutions for safe drinking water without as much logistical burden and at a lower cost. Being able to easily load a C1 onto a canoe to reach a remote village, for example, is going to be a game changer when it comes to humanitarian aid and disaster response.”
Like all of LifeSaver’s ultrafiltration products, the C1 effectively removes 99.9999% of bacteria, 99.99% of microbial cysts such as giardia or cryptosporidium and 99.99% of viruses from water supplies, with no electricity or chemicals required. An incorporated drain port allows for routine cleaning and flushing of the filter, which is easily replaceable, and FailSafe technology ensures that water cannot pass through once the filter membranes are blocked.
The C1 is available now and carries an MSRP of $1,600. To learn more about LifeSaver products, visit iconlifesaver.com.
About LifeSaver
Founded in the UK in 2007, LifeSaver came to life following back-to-back natural disasters: the Indian Ocean Tsunami and Hurricane Katrina. Inventor Michael Pritchard felt compelled to address the resulting need for access to clean drinking water. The first LifeSaver prototype was developed in Pritchard’s garage, and became the world’s first portable water filter capable of removing the smallest known waterborne viruses. Since that time, LifeSaver has established itself as an effective and long-lasting solution to drinking water issues in the humanitarian and military sectors, as well as for outdoor enthusiasts. www.iconlifesaver.com
