Executive Protection Admin Bag

December 27, 2017 by Loadout Room Guest Authors 2 Comments

Executive Protection Admin Bag
The Executive Protection (EP) Admin Bag is the brainchild of Aaron Mauldin, former Marine, executive protection agent, and founder of the Zombie Eradication Response Team (Z.E.R.T.).  The bag is designed to hold the essentials for an executive protection agent while performing advances or protection details.  The bag is produced by Velocity Systems/Mayflower R&C and is available in either black or black Multicam on the Z.E.R.T. store (the bags are only posted for sale when in stock).
Upon receipt of the bag, I thought that it felt kind of soft compared to other similar type bags on the market.  It is a sling bag with two pockets built into the sling.  Overall size is approximately 16″ X 12″ in a teardrop shape.  The pockets on the sling can be used to hold medical items, pistol magazines, or anything else you can think of, I keep a SWAT-T, Quik Clot packet, gloves, and rescue hook in the lower pocket, the upper pocket I use for either my phone or a charger pack for my phone.  There is an outside pocket which has built-in loops for rifle magazines in it.  I don’t roll with a rifle so I’ll put items I want to access quickly in it anything from a small notebook and pen, flashlight, snacks, medication packets, gloves, etc…  There is also a small flat zipper pocket on the exterior which is handy for stashing your keys, wallet, and other such items, especially when passing through airport security.  There are three loops attached to the outside that can be used for attaching carabiners for keys and such. I usually have a CPR mask on a carabiner and a bottle of hand sanitizer attached to the loops.

The interior has a wall of Velcro material that will accept holsters, magazine holders, admin sleeves, etc…  from Condor, Maxpedition, 215 Gear, and 5.11.  I currently run an admin sleeve from 215 Gear in my bag for pens, notebook a backup charger, etc…   The Velcro wall can be opened to access a sleeve for something like an IPad or armor panel.  I run an armor panel in mine.  There is plenty of room in the main compartment for any miscellaneous items that you might want additionally on the bottom of the bag is a zipper allowing it to expand and you can really get a substantial amount of gear in there.  On a recent trip to NYC to renew my Security license there I was wearing a sweatshirt when the weather turned warmer than expected.  I just opened up the zipper and was able to stuff it in with the rest of my gear.
I’m usually a backpack guy but I like the sling bag concept for working and traveling especially in crowded areas because I can move it around to my front and keep unwanted hands out of my bag and I can access needed items without having to stop and remove my bag.  I mentioned the softness of the bag and was a little skeptical at first but dismissed the thought.  The softness keeps it close to your body without hanging off uncomfortably also if I’m traveling I’m usually going to have a backpack as my carry on, if that is the case the EP Admin Bag conveniently rolls up and stores in a small space and when I’m ready to go out I can transfer needed items into it for more convenient carry.  All in all, I’m happy with the bag and will continue to use it in my professional and personal rotation.
