DANNER Introduces Lightweight, Warm-Weather Hiker For Spring 2018

Portland, Ore. – Inspired by the Grand Canyon’s South Rim trail, Danner introduces the South Rim 600 for Spring 2018 – one of the brand’s most breathable and lightest weight hikers to date. Borrowing the ultra-cushioning Vibram® SPE midsole and Vibram® Fuga outsole with Megagrip from the highly-acclaimed Mountain 600 hiking boot, the South Rim 600 offers classic Danner style combined with proven comfort and performance. Unique to the South Rim 600, however, is the lightweight mesh and water-resistant suede upper that maximizes breathability, making this your go-to summer boot when there’s an incline in both temperature and terrain.

“In much of North America, hikers experience warm and dry conditions in the summer months,” says Donald McLellan, Danner Outdoor Product Line Manager. “By combining the performance features from the award-winning Mountain 600 with new, highly breathable materials, we made the perfect light hiker for summer in the South Rim 600.”

Made with a unique co-polymer blend of synthetic natural rubber and EVA, the Vibram® SPE (Specialized Performance Elastomer) midsole delivers greater rebound, comfort and flexibility, providing superior performance without the weight, while the Ortholite® footbed offers additional cushioning and support for longer days. The Vibram® Fuga outsole features self-adapting lugs and Vibram’s hardy Megagrip for supreme traction and increased stability on challenging wet and dry surfaces.

The South Rim 600 is the ideal hiking companion for next spring and summer, and will be available February 1, 2018 for men only (MSRP $150) at Danner.com.
