Weapon of choice for embedded human intel assets

Just had one of those midnight conversations with a one of my brother’s. He is a guy that I can’t talk about all that much, but he is very much a part of what the Manifesto is and he is an integral member of our Advanced Development Group. I mention him as Brujo Negro ( […]

Perfect Partner: The Rugged Surge 7.62 Suppressor

Originally published on Tactical Life After blowing up a supposed “auto-rated” suppressor with an M16, I went on a trek to find one that would not have an unscheduled and surprising demise. I have said that if I hear one more person say that the 22 Long Rifle is the best all ’round prepper/survival cartridge, I would challenge them to a duel at 50 paces (my 100 yd pace count is 64 paces). I get an AR chambered in .223/5.56 (basically a heavier 22 going really fast) and they […]

Russia’s RPK-74 LMG: A Faithful Servant Since 1974

Courtesy of Tactical Life When I was in Russia a little over 12 years ago, I had quite a few contacts with former Desantniks (paratroopers) and Spetsnaz operators and made it a point to ask them about the weapons they had used and their opinions of them. Since most had seen combat in Afghanistan or Chechnya, their views of weapons […]

Glock 17 MOS: First look, It’s not great

You can’t throw a rock without hitting someone in the firearms industry who makes Glock accessories. It is easily the most popular pistol on the planet.
