The Stoner 63 is a 5.56×45mm NATO modular weapon system. Using a variety of modular components, it can be easily configured as an assault rifle, carbine, top-fed light machine gun, belt-fed squad automatic weapon, or as a vehicle-mounted weapon. The Stoner 63 was never adopted for widespread use by American forces during the Vietnam War […]
One of the best things to happen to the pistol and firearms community was the U.S. Army’s XM17 Modular Handgun System (MHS) competition. The Army announced the competition in 2015 and in January 2017 crowned Sig Sauer P320’s as the winner. Most know that Glock offered the Glock 19x but might not know that Beretta, […]
As in teaching or training, one size never fits all. The same is just as true in the firearms space. And since most of the trainers out there are men, it’s time to stop training with that mentality. It’s also time for men to stop making really bad recommendations on the best guns for women. […]
Perhaps the most famous Soviet weapon is the ubiquitous AK-47 which has stood the test of time and is still found everywhere in the world, especially among terrorist groups. Nevertheless, the AK isn’t the only Soviet weapon that has survived the test of time. The much less-spoken-about Makarov PM pistol is still widely used although […]

When discussing German military pistols many people first think of the iconic Luger P08. But I’d argue that the Walther P38 (P.38 in official jargon) should hold the reins. The Walther was truly a beast of burden. It remained the official German military pistol from the outset of World War II until 2004. A […]
The mighty United States Army teaches four fundamentals of marksmanship. You need to know these to make it through Basic Training: 1. Steady position focuses on grip, elbow placement, rifle butt position, stock weld, bone support, muscle relaxation and natural point of aim. 2. Aiming focuses on sight alignment, eye focus and consistent sight picture. […]
Many of the guns I have purchased have been done so with the idea of being the “last rifle” or “last pistol” I’ll ever need to buy. Of course this never actually works out in practice – something new comes along and I catch the bug. Once in a while, though, I find something that […]
The need for a lightweight, easily portable, but powerful weapon is one outdoors folk regularly have. Be it camping, hunting, or just a bit of adventuring anytime you step outside of civilization you should want a weapon that can bring you back. This Tristar folding shotgun fits the bill for me, and I was pleasantly surprised […]
