Professional Gear Reviews
Gerber is a great company that offers a lot of quality knives at an affordable price. The Gerber Flatiron confuses me a bit though. If you carry a cleaver as your only blade, you’re missing out on a lot of functionality compared to a blade with a point. If you carry one as a secondary […]

It’s that time of year where most guys are wondering what the hell to buy their wife, girlfriend or significant other for Christmas. Depending on what they do on a daily basis for work or commuting you may want to consider getting a few items for her to have on hand in an emergency. Not […]
There isn’t a more recognizable knife design than the karambit, a curved and often fixed-blade knife whose origins come from Southeast Asia. While it may have originally been used primarily as a work knife, it has evolved to become an unmistakable fighting knife, especially in Western countries. Its design is said to have been inspired […]
I have nothing but high praise for Spyderco knives. My first knife was a Spyderco and my collection has only grown since then. The latest addition to my collection is the Spyderco Tenacious. The Tenacious has a similar look and feel compared to the Spyderco Manix 2, which is one of my favorite knives, but there […]
I am definitely not one to carry a “tactical” bag. Whenever I see someone with anything screaming military it makes me cringe. So when I got this bag, I went into it with hesitation but quickly became friends with it. I have not used a messenger bag since elementary school, however, its efficiency and versatility […]
We recently took a quick look at the small Truckie Pouch from Recylced Firefighter. After I had published the quick look I put my order in to get one to play around with. My initial thought was to use it as a minimalist toiletry bag (which I may still do), but I immediately saw it’s use for a […]
If you’re on the road a lot you need a survival kit. I was on leave a couple months back and driving a mountain pass when a snowstorm hit suddenly. The snow plows hadn’t yet arrived and the roads rapidly became very treacherous. Cars were getting stuck on the side of the road every 10-20 […]
I’ve owned other Salomon shoes and boots in the past and can honestly say they have been the best footwear I’ve spent money on. Yes, they may cost more than other brands, but you get what you pay for. My military service taught me the importance of having the proper footwear and taking care of your feet […]
