Tennessee-based gun maker Barrett has announced it is now offering its popular REC7 DI in an AR-style pistol configuration.
Shooting Illustrated reports that the new REC7 DI pistol —available in both 5.56 NATO and .300 BLK—sports a 10.25-inch stainless steel match grade barrel with Barrett’s own muzzle device to reduce recoil. The pistol also boasts an oversized charging handle for easy racking; Barrett BRS handguard with KeyMod attachment points; continuous flattop rail; gas block with a nut-retention device; and a Magpul MOE pistol grip, triggerguard and 20-round PMAG.
The REC7 DI pistol comes with a Tailhook MOD 1 pistol brace made by Gear Head Works. This compact brace is less than one inch thick; features a solid aluminum construction; and fastens to pistol buffer tubes that range in diameter from 1.17 to 1.2 inches, Shooting Illustrated says.
Measuring 24.75 inches in overall length and weighing just 5.45 pounds total, the Barrett REC7 DI pistol has a black Cerakote finish, along with a suggested retail price of $1,899. According to the press release, the pistol is available for a limited time Barrett’s distributors: AcuSport, Bill Hicks & Co., Ellett Brothers, MGE Wholesale, RSR Group and Sports South.
