The Emerson CQC-9K | A New Everyday Carry

The Emerson Kershaw CQC-9K | A New Everyday Carry

The Kershaw/Emerson CQC-9K has been my everyday carry knife for a while now. My initial goal was to review not as a weapon, or a survival knife, but as an everyday carry knife. Throughout my CQC-9k review, I was quite pleased with its performance. I like simple things, and the CQC-9K proved to be rugged, reliable […]

NcStar’s FlipDot Reflex Sight – A Budget RDS

Sometimes a product comes out of nowhere and really catches you by surprise, especially from companies that don’t typically cross your desk. The FlipDot from NcStar was one such product. The FlipDot is a fascinating design from a company known for making very simple red dots. As the name implies the FlipDot is a red dot sight that […]

The Comfort Cling Holster: A Clip Less Wonder?

Reviewing holsters is always fun, and I really love being proven wrong when I see an idea I think is a failure. One such idea I thought was a bit too far was the Comfort Cling Holster from Clinger Holsters. I like the No Print Wonder V2, so I figured I could give them a […]

The Covert Operations Case: Grey Man Approved

The market for the discrete carry of firearms is only growing. At one point the industry took a sharp right turn at a sign reading smaller is better. I think this is due to the advent of pistol braces. Pistol braces have made unwieldy and often front heavy guns like the pistol variants of the […]

Talking the TAC 14 with Gabe Suarez

Talking the TAC 14 with Gabe Suarez

I’m a shotgun nut, so when I saw the TAC 14 and Shockwave at SHOT last year I was insanely excited. My initial thoughts was “awesome range toy” and the reviews I wrote about the guns reflected that. As I’ve used them more and more I’m beginning to see that the Shockwave and TAC 14 […]

Black Storm Defense Signature Holster | A First Look

Black Storm Defense Signature Holster

My standard method of carrying a handgun goes from an OWB kydex holster to a cargo pocket holster depending on what part of the day I’m in. I’ve never cared for IWB, and when I first tried it I found it quite uncomfortable for anything bigger than a J frame. That’s why when Black Storm […]

Emerson La Griffe | A Second First Look

Emerson La Griffe | A Second First Look

I don’t think I’m a knife guy. The general knives I own and buy fill a purpose and that’s usually it. I’m not on the cutting edge of the knife world. My time at the Loadout Room and reviewing knives has really opened my eyes. In reviewing knives I often get to use and abuse […]

The Tailhook Mod 2: Greatness from Gear Head Works.

The NFA is one of the largest infringements on our second amendment rights ever. What I love about the firearm industry is the fact that engineers beat government every time. Pistol braces are an example of that. I love pistol braces and the realm they occupy. Certain large pistols in the AR or AK platform […]

The Kidon Conversion Kit – The Tip of the Spear

The name Kidon may not mean much to those of us outside of Israel. However, in Hebrew Kidon means bayonet or tip of the spear, and more than that Kidon is a department of the Mossad. Specifically, Kidon is the branch of the Mossad in charge of executions of opponents. It’s one helluva name for […]

The T3 Bolt Bag: From the Minds of SEALs

The T3 Bolt Bag: From the Minds of SEALs

Trident Tactical/Technical, aka T3, is a Navy SEAL owned and operated company that is located just about as close as you can get to the front lines of Special Warfare. Their headquarters is on Trident Way, on the Naval Amphibious Base Coronado. This makes them neighbors with the West Coast SEAL teams and the famous BUD/S training […]
