NIGHTSTICK Duty/Personal-Size Flashlight

April 2, 2018 by Loadout Room Guest Authors Leave a Comment

NIGHTSTICK Duty/Personal-Size Flashlight

NIGHTSTICK is a company I came across while searching for a cost-effective solution to carry on patrol every day. A common problem in any low-light situation is balancing the necessities of your lights power, size, and runtime. NIGHTSTICK’s solution to these issues resulted in the creation of the model NSR-9924XL.

Per NIGHTSTICK’s website:

This duty/personal-size rechargeable polymer multi-function Xtreme Lumens™ Dual-Light™ Flashlight uses a CREE® LED rated at 650 lumens that work in conjunction with a high-efficiency deep parabolic reflector to create a usable beam rated at 275 meters. A 200 lumens unfocused floodlight is integrated into the housing which is perfect for close-up illumination. Additionally, both the flashlight (any brightness mode) and the floodlight can be turned on at the same time for maximum safety and versatility. The flashlight body and tail switches provide momentary or constant-on functionality, a set of user-selectable high, medium or low-brightness settings as well as a disorienting strobe. Both flashlight switches operate in tandem with each other. The second body switch operates the floodlight. The housing is made from glass-filled nylon polymer and has an aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminum tail-cap and bezel both with a Type III hard anodized finish. Power comes from a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery.

The flashlight’s body feels very sturdy and provides ample grip even when wet. The beam of the flashlight is very usable from a search-light perspective, and for its size produces a very nice beam with a defined hot spot. One of my favorite features while using this light is the ability to utilize both the less-intense floodlight and focused beam to allow me to know where I’m stepping, while I continue to look for whatever I’m focused on. The floodlight also works wonders while tucked under your arm to illuminate things in your hands without providing so much light that it blinds you.

The flashlight itself comes in the box with all of the essentials. Inside NIGHTSTICK has provided the light, a NIGHTSTICK branded Lithium-ion rechargeable battery, a wall or vehicle mounted charger, and adapters to charge the light under both AC or DC power supplies. The ability to charge the light through various sources is a very nice touch for a product that can be purchased with all of this included for slightly over $100.
