Winkler Belt Knife | Exclusive Special Edition | CPM3V and Walnut

October 25, 2017 by Scott Witner Leave a Comment

Winkler Belt Knife | Exclusive Special Edition | CPM3V and Walnut

Upon receiving the Winkler Knives II Belt Knife from knifeart.com, I was immediately impressed. Winkler Knives is known in the community for working with elite military units such as SEAL Team 6. Being able to handle one of his knives is a glorious feeling. I immediately took the knife outside to get a feel for how it would do in prepping wood for a fire. Needless to say the knife was able to do everything from carving fine curls to processing down larger pieces by batoning the knife through the wood.

The sheath design for this knife is a stellar design in every way. The belt knife comes with a felt lined leather sheath. Having the felt lining dampens the noise of drawing the knife and then sheathing the knife. Does that really offer any practicality? I don’t know, but it’s a damn cool feature as far as I’m concerned.

The sheath comes with a small kydex attachment for different carry methods. Out of the box the sheath comes equipped with a metal clip for attaching to your belt or directly to your clothing. I’ve carried the knife IWB, just to see if it could comfortably be done, and it was. Due to the size of the knife and the sheath design I was able to confidently carry this blade concealed. Although that really isn’t the intention with this specific knife, it can be done.

Item description (courtesy of Knife Art)

Exclusive Special Edition Winkler belt knife in walnut, CPM 3V steel with a caswell finish. The American Made CPM 3V steel with a caswell finish is one of the features that make this Belt Knife so different. CPM 3V steel is a high toughness, extremely wear-resistant steel made by the Crucible Particle Metallurgy process. It is designed to provide maximum resistance to breakage and chipping in a high wear-resistance blade steel. CPM 3V offers impact resistance greater than A2, D2, Cru-Wear, or CPM M4 which makes it an excellent choice for the Winkler Belt Knife. The 58-60 HRC hardness ensures great strength, edge retention, and reliability.

The handle is beautiful and tough American Walnut! The CPM 3V Belt Knife features a full tapered tang design for blade balance and weight reduction. File work on the thumb rest of the blade spine is decorative and functional. Lanyard hole in the rear section of the handle makes adding a lanyard a breeze. If you are looking for the ultimate hunting, camping, survival and tactical fixed blade, we think this Special Edition belt knife from Winkler Knives would make a perfect choice. KnifeArt.com is honored to work with Daniel Winkler to bring this knife to life and offer it to users who demand the best!
