FLIR’s had a big year thus far, and the Oregon-based company isn’t showing any signs of slowing down with the announcement of the new FLIR ThermoSight Pro Series, which includes three rifle-mounted thermal imaging sights for tactical shooters and outdoor enthusiasts alike.
Powered by a 12-micron Boson thermal camera core, the FLIR ThermoSight Pro Series features on-chip video processing and an uncompressed video signal fed directly to a high-def 1280×960 display, resulting in enhanced object detection and clean, crisp thermal imagery in any lighting condition, or through smoke, haze and light fog.
According to the press release, the three models in the FLIR ThermoSight Pro Series each offer 320×256 thermal resolution, Bluetooth 4.0 and USB-C connectivity, user-controlled imaging palettes, image enhancement filters, digital compass and inclinometer. Meanwhile, onboard recording lets you store up to two hours of video or 1,000 JPEG images.
The first model available in the FLIR ThermoSight Pro Series is the PTS233. It features a reticle pattern using patent-pending High-Visibility Technology, which the company says “displays crisp iconology and graphic overlays over virtually all backgrounds.”
Here’s the breakdown by model:
FLIR ThermoSight Pro PTS233 – 19-millimeter (mm) lens, 4X digital zoom and 12-degree field-of-view
FLIR ThermoSight Pro PTS533 – 50 mm lens, 4X digital zoom and 4.5-degree field-of-view
FLIR ThermoSight Pro PTS733 – 75 mm lens, 4X digital zoom and 3-degree field-of-view
The FLIR ThermoSight Pro PTS233 is available now at a MSRP of $2,199. The PTS533 and PTS733 will be shipping out in the fourth quarter of this year. No MSRP has been announced yet for those models.
