Sadlak Industries low profile gas block: concealed beneath full-length hand guards

For some time now, longer hand guards on ARs have been the new hotness. In fact, I’m reviewing hand guards from BCM, Samson, & Mission First Tactical as we speak. However, people don’t talk enough about what goes on underneath the rail holding all the epic mall ninja trinkets.

If you have a standard carbine length AR, and you want one of those longer handgrips so you can throw your support hand out there as far as Chris Costa, Travis Haley, and David Beckham, you’re going to need a low profile gas block.

Er…um…wrong kinda shooting with that last guy, but you get what I’m saying.

sadlak

There are several manufacturers that make a great gas block, but let me tell you about the one I run. For more than two years, I’ve used the Sadlak Industries low profile gas block. I’ve tried both the GB100 and GB121 and they are both excellent but the GB121 now lives on my gun. I’ve run it hard in all conditions, and it’s never missed a beat.

It’s ridden under a Samson Evolution and now a BCM KMR and done its job without receiving an ounce of acclaim.  When’s the last time someone walked up to you at the range and said “sweet gas block, Bro”?

In every area of life, I appreciate the behind-the-scenes players that actually make things happen. Every great organization I’ve ever been a part of had great supporting players on the team that just got stuff done. These players often went unnoticed until they were absent. That’s exactly what a good gas block does; though its job is simple, un-noticed, and under-appreciated, it is incredibly crucial.

Let me tell you, if your gas block doesn’t work, you’ll notice. This one works, day in and day out. That’s why this reliable offering from Sadlak Industries is a star in my book. Go ahead and give a standing O for the behind-the-scenes players!
