One of the knives used by the London terrorist attackers in June of 2017. Note the selection of a non-metallic blade to circumvent metal detectors and the dedication to grip and retention of the knife by adding an elastic cord on its handle.
Ceramic knives depending on the place of fabrication and company might have metallic strips in them. Something done to keep people from using them to penetrate security.
Some people out there advocate their use as a self-defense option for people traveling in nonpermissive environments, but the problem I see with it is the narrative it creates if found about you and your intentions ( especially now ). If you don’t have a Garrett wand at home to test it’s non-metallic properties then you are in for a shock if you get one of the knives that have a metallic strip in them.
Do your homework.
