There are no shortage of options on the market when it comes to having a quality holster to conceal your pistol. In fact, a flood of products and innovations make it particularly hard for any one product or company to stand out. However, I have found one company that has managed to do just that by manufacturing a very high-quality holster and mag pouch combo. The catch? It sells for a fraction of the price that other competitors charge.
Zero 2 Hero Concepts is the company. The Holster Mag Combo is their product.
The holster itself is known as the Palton Gen. 2. This inside the waistband holster is made of Kydex, which comes in regular, carbon, or leather and is offered in over 15+ colors. Customization of the rivet color is also available with about 10 different colors.
The simplicity of this holster and its attention to small features is what impressed me. A suppressor sight channel allows for perfect fitting of your raised sights, and it is also pre-cut for a variety of rear mounted optics. The sweat shield is available in high, medium, or large. Belt clips are available in 1.5” and 1.75”. You can use either an injection molded clip or the soft button loops, which can provide a more secure hold, depending on your preference.
An interesting feature that caught my eye was the addition of an appendix bump next to the belt clip. This ½ inch raised bump is designed to partially obstruct the channel that the belt passes through the clip. When wearing the holster, the bump pushes against the belt, which causes mag well of the pistol to be pushed against your body. This small feature nearly eliminates any visible print, even when using a full size Glock or 1911. Whether you choose to run it positioned in the 12 o’clock, 6 o’clock, or any in between, you can be certain that it will work for you, not against you.
A flared edge on the holster just above the belt loops allows for easy holstering of the pistol after it has been drawn. I noticed upon holstering that I could easily keep my eyes forward and rely on the feel of the flare as a guide for holstering it quickly. It’s nothing dramatic and not noticeable, but it does help to have it. The widening of the mouth just makes it quick and easy when under stress.
A retention screw is available in case you wish to adjust the tension, but I found that it was perfect just the way it arrived. The mag pouch is IWB, but the clip can easily be switched around in the event that you want to run it OWB. The same features and color styles are available for the pouch as well. When ordering, you can change your round orientation so that your rounds are indexed or facing backwards. Again, this is all about your own preference.
I’d like to focus a little more on the company for a moment, because I believe this is what makes them stand out from their competitors. Based out of Las Vegas, this small company is owned and operated by true-blue Americans with a focus on providing quality products and service to their customers. My favorite part about this company is that they blow their competitors out of the water when it comes to lead times. Although their products are hand-made to order, you WILL be receiving them in a fraction of the time and price as the other big guys out there.
They’ve listened closely to the end-user, and have redeveloped their products based on their feedback. If something doesn’t work, they’ve learned to make it work. If something does work, they’ve improved on it. This is the best damn Kydex holster that I’ve ever used.
Placing their trust in the 2nd Amendment, they believe every American citizen has the RIGHT to protect themselves, their family, and innocents around them from criminals and those that intend to do evil. The Zero 2 Hero concept is based on this belief, knowing that a single person’s action can be the difference between life and death for many around them. After testing and reviewing this product, I have no doubt that I could count on it to help get me through any situation I might encounter.
For a product this reliable, you will only find yourself paying $49.99 for the combo. I’ve put aside my $120+ custom holsters and have chosen to use the HMC for my daily carry. After reading this review, I hope that you choose to support this awesome American business and give their products a try. I’m absolutely certain that you won’t be disappointed. You can get yours now from Zero 2 Hero Concepts.
