Jaybird Freedom Sport Headphones – First Look

February 4, 2017 by Travis Pike Leave a Comment

Jaybird X3 Sport Headphones - First Look

Jaybird Sport is probably a name most of us do not know. The Jaybird Sport brand is an extension of Logitech that makes headphones. They don’t make your average headphones, though. Jaybird makes a few different headphones, but we are looking at the Jaybird Freedom headphones.

Jaybird X3 Sport Headphones - First Look

The Jaybird Freedom headphones are high-quality headphones, but not in the way you. Not to say they don’t sound amazing, but they aren’t designed for Audiophiles. Their aspects of high-quality nature comes from their durability. Here at the Loadout Room, we are all about living an adventurous life. An adventurous life and electronics rarely mix. The Jaybird Freedom headphones are designed for an adventurous lifestyle.

Jaybird Freedom – On the Move

The Jaybird Freedom headphones are completely sweat proof and water-resistant. They aren’t designed to be submerged but the sweat from a hike or a run isn’t going to affect them. They are designed to take spills, hit the ground, and keep on going.

The headphones are fitted with Comply Sport foam ear tips that are designed to deal with sweat and moisture. They keep sound pumping through the system, keep the ear buds comfortable, and keep them in place. To help keep them in place is a series of secure-fit ear fins. This keeps the buds in place when running, jumping, jogging, lifting weights, and even more extreme sports. Jaybird’s brand ambassadors include pro volley ball players, pro BMX riders, and Motocross racers.

The Rundown

Some quick facts about the Jaybird Freedom headphones,

  • 8 hours total run time
  • Recharges via Micro USB
  • Can be used as a Phone Mic
  • They are voice prompt compatible
  • A proprietary app allows you to customize sound settings.

Freedom!

The Jaybird Freedom headphones also free you from wires. They do have a wire that connects the buds together, but other than that are completely free of a wired connection. They run off of bluetooth and have about 5 yards of range. I like when lifting weights because my headphones are never accidentally ripped out of my ears when my elbow catches the wire and pulls them.
I’ve only had them for about four days at the time of this writing, and I don’t think I can go back. I haven’t had them long enough to give a full review, but you can expect one to come soon.
