Tactical Tailor Concealed Carry Sling Bag | First Look

December 8, 2016 by Travis Pike 1 Comment

Tactical Tailor Concealed Carry Sling Bag | First Look

Tactical Tailor is a fine purveyor of tactical gear. Easily one of the best companies for ammo pouches, vests, and of course packs. I previously reviewed the Tactical Tailor active shooter bag and found it to be a well-made piece of gear. I have high hopes for their concealed carry sling bag. The concealed carry sling bag already seems well-built, and well conceived. They didn’t simply take a sling bag and toss a holster into it and call it something special.

The Tactical Tailor Concealed Carry sling bag is lightweight, easy to carry, and seems to be quite well made. Time will tell once we hit the range. The bag lacks a tactical appearance that gives it away. The bag is available in a wide variety of colors and my sample is green and black.

From Front to Rear of the Concealed Carry Sling Bag

The front small pouch has a large hook and loop panel on the rear of it. Inside this pack is a removable compartment organizer. The organizer attached to the hook and loop panel inside the front pouch. The organizer consists of two large elastic components, a pouch behind them, and the bottom layer has three daisy chained elastic bands. The bands are large enough to fit magazines, multi-tools,  or whatever else you need.

A few extra mags in the front pocket

The main pouch has a hook and loop panel on the front to organize goods if needed. If not the pouch itself is big enough for most EDC needs. You can fit books, a laptop, a water source, snacks, and whatever else you need. The main pouch us well sized for most tasks given to a backpack.

The Main pack

The very last pouch is the star of the show. It’s well concealed and discreet. This small pouch has another wall of hook and loop. Inside this pouch is a universal style wrap holster with an elastic band for an extra magazine. The pouch is big enough to fit just about any handgun I could picture. In my concealed carry sling bag I am keeping a SW99C with four magazines total. One in the gun, on in the elastic band near the holster and two in the front pouch.

My other Gear

I also keep my Emerson La Griffe and a kydex magazine pouch in the very front pouch. This kydex pouch is there for me to remove and place on my belt is I have the time and need to. I also keep a tourniquet in this front pouch. The main pouch will also be home to my laptop,  my AMK trauma kit, and headlamp.

Gripes

My main grip is the lack of padding between the ‘gun’ pouch and the main pouch of the Tactical Tailor Concealed carry sling bag. With everyone carrying some type of tablet or laptop these days a little padding would have worked wonders here. It’s an easy fix, toss a small padded case on my laptop and I’ll be good to go.

What the Future Holds

The Star of the Show

I’m planning to keep this bag as my everyday carry. Every day and where I can legally carry a gun I plan to have one in it. If I am going to discuss off body carry I should at least give it a try. I also plan to take the concealed carry sling bag to the range and try drawing, firing, and reloading from it. Watch this space for more.
