VISM Hand Stop by Nc Star

The VISM Hand Stop by popular accessory manufacturer NcStar Inc. is sure to be useful to anyone who is currently using a KeyMod style rail system. We recently had a chance to grab one of these little grips in one of the new tactical box clubs that we had the fortune of trying out. The subscription to that particular box club turned out to be a wasted endeavor but we found at least one diamond in the rough. While is usually hard to get overly excited about a simple grip, the VISM grip peaked our interest.

There are many things to like about the VISM grip and honestly only one thing that we disliked about it. So as to not be overly critical or negative lets take a look at the positive elements the VISM has going for it. First the grip is made by NcStar, a company known for making entry level optics at a great price point and having a warranty that they in my experiences have stood behind. The VISM line of products was launched by the parent company NcStar in 2010 to handle the growing market of accessories other than optics. The company thought they had the ability to bring affordable accessories with quality to the growing market of military style sporting arms, so the line was born. Lets take a look at the breakdown of the VISM Hand Stop, and why its sure to be a hit.

IMPRESSIONS

The VISM may get lost in the sea of rifle fore grips that are currently on the market but at a MSRP for under $20.00 it really is a quality accessory hiding in plane sight. I have installed this on my wife’s Bravo Company USA, AR15 rail both forwards and backwards and the grip performs just as you would expect. It does nothing magical or special, it doesn’t make me hit a bullseye at 1000 yards on a dead run. What it does do is everything its suppose to do, it stays in position when I use it and secures to the rail in an predictable fashion, it simply works exactly as advertised. We have reviewed other grips that were also aluminum and far more expensive and this one for under $20 performs exactly the same as its higher priced cousins. I feel very stupid for having spent more money that I should on a grip, when this one would do just fine. Lessons learned I suppose, this isn’t the most expensive lesson I have learned.

If you are on a budget or just like to make your dollars stretch a little farther and want a great fore grip at an incredible price then I would suggest you look at the VISM Hand Stop. I really enjoy the grip over the MagPul grip with picatinny adapter that was previously on our test platform AR-15. This grip is of course designed for the KeyMod rail system and the MagPul was set up for a M1913 style rail system which admittedly was half the problem. The small profile of the VISM coupled with the light weight and the fact its reversible makes this grip adaptable to the end users desires to some extent. Below we have included some links to retailers currently stocking the VISM Hand Stop. We do intent to stop by NcStar Inc at SHOT Show 2017 and ask them a few questions about their products. If there is anything you would like us to ask, drop us a line in the comments section below and we will try our best to get to the inside scoop on stories and product line, as best as we can anyway.
