Grips from GunGrips.net are available for the 1911, Beretta 92, Baby Eagle, Desert Eagle, Para Ordnance, Ruger MK II and MK III, Sig Sauer and Taurus. I will not list all of the versions offered but I will tell you that for the Sig the 220, 226, 228, 229, 238 and 239 are available in black or natural aluminum with approximately 40 standard images available as well as customer supplied images to be laser etched or UV printed on the grips. Doing product reviews is a chore but somebody has to do it!! HA!! Reviewed here are grips for a Sig 229, checkered black anodized aluminum they also have the smooth blank oval for images if so desired. I chose the Navy SEAL Trident as my laser engraved image.
Grip turnaround time is normally 7 to 10 days and as an example the price of the Sig 229 grips with a laser etched or UV cured image run in the neighborhood of $139.95 for the smooth grips to $169.95 for the checkered grips with the smooth oval. Their blank grip stocks are purchased through reputable well known grip manufacturers and are of the highest quality.
The grips are precision machined with CNC machines and anodized for appearance and to protect the aluminum. A CO2 laser is used for the mono color images or a Roland UV printer to add full color images on the grips.
For about 10 years Hogue Inc., a name that most are more than familiar with has manufactured special anodized aluminum Sig Sauer grips for GunGrips.net. The grips feature Hogue’s standard checkered pattern and with an additional smooth oval in the grips for laser etching or UV printed images.
Make note that in 2018, Hogue made the decision to stop supplying these grips but allowed GunGrips.net to purchase all of the remaining stock. The stock is limited and when all are sold they will no longer be available ANYWHERE!!
The grips pictured are on my Sig 229, they are in the black checkered aluminum and feature a laser etched Navy SEAL Trident. I have to say that the grips fit very well and the image is outstanding. The checkering on the sides and back strap are nice and crisp but not too sharp as to make handling and shooting the Sig unpleasant.
Please check out their website and see for yourself what they have to offer, you will be pleasantly surprised. If you want an image on the grips you can choose from their in house offerings or supply an image of your own. www.gungrips.net
