Tactical Walls | Hide-A-Mag: Simply conceal your firearm, anywhere

Tactical Walls | Hide-A-Mag: Simply conceal your firearm, anywhere

November 13, 2017 by Loadout Room Guest Authors Leave a Comment

The Tactical Walls Hide-A-Mag is not a locking storage option.  Review your state and local laws regarding firearms storage and be responsible in handling your firearms, especially around children.

Tactical Walls has come up with several innovative ways and products to conceal your firearm.  Some of these products include a coffee table, shelf, clock, and even a tissue box.  Yet, one of their simplest products also happens to be their most versatile, the Tactical Walls Hide-A-Mag.  Take a look at the specifications from their official product page, even these are simple.

Specifications

Dimensions: 4″ x 1″ x 1/4″

Components:

  • N45 rare-earth neodymium magnet
  • ABS plastic cover
  • 2 attachment screws

About the Hide-A-Mag

Tactical Walls | Hide-A-Mag: Simply conceal your firearm, anywhere
The front side of the Hide-A-Mag and the author’s Glock 19.

The Hide-A-Mag is a straightforward and uncomplicated product.  It is a neodymium magnet housed inside a plastic cover and your handgun or magazine will attach onto it by magnetic retention (duh).   The Hide-A-Mag can be firmly affixed on most metallic surfaces (duh again), or you can choose to screw it onto a non-magnetic surface for a semi-permanent fixture.  The beauty about this product is that it can attach to just about any surface: your desk, cabinet, drawer, car, or wherever else you can think of putting it.

Tactical Walls claims that their neodymium magnet’s pull force is rated over 35lbs.  After affixing the Hide-A-Mag to several different surfaces, there is little doubt about that claim, so be wary around electronics or anything else you don’t want to damage.  The opposite side of the magnet is shielded by the plastic housing and offers a slightly weaker pull.  This is so that the magnet doesn’t peel off of whatever surface it is attached to instead of your gun peeling off of it when you retrieve it.

The reserve side of the Hide-A-Mag.

The verdict

This is a simple product, and therefore it hardly has any cons.  Again, the Hide-A-Mag is Tactical Walls’ most versatile concealment option; not only can it be placed on most surfaces, it’s also easy to remove and portable.  I wish I had more to say, but I don’t and that’s a good thing.  The Hide-A-Mag works, and it works well.  At the time of writing this review, the Hide-A-Mag is available for $19.99 from Tactical Walls.
