Gerber Suspension Multi-Plier Review

Gerber Suspension Multi-Plier

September 7, 2014 by Max Carter 7 Comments

The first thing that caught my eye with the Gerber Suspension Multi-Plier was its cool design, which is based on the bridges of Portland, Oregon where Gerber is based. As soon as you pick the Gerber up you realise how light it is – it only weighs 9oz!

When I was on the lookout for a new multi-tool, I had originally been looking for a Leatherman, but now that I have a Gerber I will not be going back. The Gerber Suspension is a very sturdy piece. It fits easily in your hand due to the snug fit of the grips. The spring action on the pliers is also a nice feature, because it allows for longer use without getting cramps in your hand.

Originally, I kept the Gerber Suspension Multi-Plier on my belt in the sheath that comes with the tool, but it’s not very hard-wearing and the velcro came apart after a few months. Now I keep it in a pouch on my assault vest tied to a piece of elastic cord so it is easily accessible. The knife on it is super sharp and up to most tasks. There is also a locking mechanism on the knives that keeps them in place when you are using them.

The only thing I have ever had to do with the knifes is sharpen them, and once this is done properly they’re as good as new. There is also a serrated blade, which is awesome. The scissors, which are really small, cut very well, especially for their size.

Gerber Suspension Multi-Plier

As with all Gerber products, the Gerber Suspension Multi-Plier comes with a lifetime warranty, which shows how confident the company is in their product. There is a reason why the company slogan is “Gerber Legendary Blades.”
