Take it With You With HatPoint Target Stands

Take it With You With HatPoint Target Stands

October 11, 2018 by Heath Layman Leave a Comment

HatPoint Target Stands are a solution to a problem that I knew I had.

Sometimes I have to take my show on the road and teach at guest ranges.  Sometimes what I have available to me for a range environment can be less than desirable.  I’ve seen some creative and some dangerous setups.  I needed a better solution than the homemade fencepost legs with channel iron to hold wooden sticks that I came up with.  The metal design worked but was heavy and dangerously sharp when an errant round found its mark. HatPoint Target Stands offer a solution.

Made in America is important and HatPoint Target stands do just that.  They offer multi-width settings.  They are lightweight, high impact and durable polymer, and they don’t take up a bunch of space.  Best of all, they don’t become razors when that errant round finds its mark on my stand.

What’s Inside?

My HatPoint Target stand showed up in a small and light box.  I opened it up and found it simple to assemble with the tools I needed (Allen wrench) included.  The design is well thought out and smart.  Within a minute or two the stand was assembled and two polymer sticks were inserted (instead of wood 1″x2″ fir strips like you could buy at a hardware store) and I was in business.  Instead of stapling cardboard or target paper to the sticks, I just simply attached the cardboard target backers with metal binder clips from an office supply store.  As tested, mine had a set of securing spikes and the polymer sticks.

The target stand is versatile and efficient.

If you’re heading out onto public lands and need a creative solution – you’ve found it.  When you’re setting up a combat course on a police gun range and need different directions of fire and varying distances – this is your solution.  If you’re at an outdoor range, use the included spikes to secure the stand.  If you’re lucky enough to have an indoor range, throw some sandbags over the top of the legs if you need to.  The HatPoint Target stand accommodates multiple target widths of – 6” 7” 8” 10” 12” 14” 16” 18” 20” 23” 24”.

Another great use of this target stand is for law enforcement training with the TASER and even in-service OC (Oleoresin Capsicum) training.  It’s super easy to set-up a full-size target like those supplied by AXON for doing the Electronic Control Device Training.

This is just a great target stand and I can’t wait to spend some more time on it and let y’all know how it holds up over time.  Order just one and try it out, I bet you’ll order more as I did.
