Anyone who owns or shoots a polymer framed pistol like a Glock is aware of the shortcomings when it comes to grip material. The polymer frames found on many of the modern pistols are very durable and easy to manufacturer but limited by texture alone to provide a positive purchase in the hand. With sweaty, wet or bloody hands, the polymer frame becomes quite slippery despite the texturing. In 2009, Talon Grips was founded by a law enforcement officer to address this very issue.
Talon Grips offer models in either a textured rubberized material or a granulated material which is similar to skateboard grip tape. Both measure .5mm for maximum pliability during application and use an adhesive backing made specifically for polymer. So when it’s time to remove or re-grip, the original Talon Grip peels off without leaving a sticky residue. Installation is fairly simple and can be completed in about 5 minutes with very basic tools.
Located in Steamboat Springs Colorado, Talon Grips designs and manufactures several types of grips for hundreds of firearms. New for 2017 is a color that Talon Grips designed to work with FDE, OD and Gray called Moss. After years in development, Moss is the first color other than black offered by Talon Grips. This was mainly due to the increased demand and popularity of FDE firearms and their widespread use in the military and private sector. Moss is a single color designed to blend in and compliment the various shades of FDE on the market rather than match exactly.  And they don’t limit their wraps to just pistols. You can find AR, AK, Shotgun and even iPhones on the list of supported devices. Available at Talon Grip retailers in February 2017. Take a look at Talon Grips website to see if a new Moss colored grip is available for your firearm.
