TAG Team Welcomes writers Jim and Jason

TAG Team Welcomes Writer Jarrod Needs - TheArmsGuide.com

I’m excited to introduce the two newest additions to the writer team of The Arms Guide: Jim (Junkfood Zombie), and Jason Stokes.

Jim (Junkfood Zombie)

Guns and gear are only two of Jim’s many interests.

Jim is a native New Yorker who moved to East Tennessee three years ago and never looked back. (Although, he admits he does miss the pizza….)  He has a passion for firearms, playing guitar, music, riding motorcycles, reading, science, off-roading, fly-fishing, hiking, camping, video games and playing miniatures-based tabletop wargaming.

Junkfood Zombie loves his family, friends and dogs.  He works in security and has his armed security license. He likes old school and new school stuff alike and is a generally easy-going guy. He has played in a band, been in a zombie movie, recently started a YouTube channel, and is now officially a writer for the Arms Guide.

Jason Stokes

Jason joined the Ohio National Guard in 2004 as a UH-60 Blackhawk Mechanic. In 2007 he was promoted to Sergeant and moved to a flight company where he became a Crew Chief. While deployed to Iraq in 2009 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, he amassed over 300 combat flight hours, 200 of which were at night with NVG’s. In 2012 he went to school to be a Flight and Standardization Instructor for the Blackhawk and when he returned focused his attention on specialty training, such as M240H machine gun instruction, rescue hoist, and sling loads. In July of 2013 he was promoted to Staff Sergeant and moved to the Quality Control shop where he currently works.

On the civilian side, he has been a firearms enthusiast since he was 8 years old when he started shooting BB guns with his dad. His first firearm purchase, when he was 18, was a Mossberg 500, and his first pistol was a Gen 3 Glock 22. Since then, he has acquired a large collection and is a self proclaimed “Glock fanboy.” He is also a Certified NRA Basic Pistol Instructor and enjoys teaching people who are new to the firearms community to help promote the sport and hobby, as well as give some insightful tips for concealed carry.

Welcome to The Arms Guide, guys! We’re happy to have you on board.

If you have any questions about helping out the TAG Team (whether you’re considering becoming a writer for The Arms Guide, or just want to share your ideas or suggestions), feel free to let us know through The Arms Guide Comms Check.
