The sheer scale of SHOT Show is difficult to communicate, but there is no better way to see all the guns, knives, and other gear I love in one place. Because of this, I anticipate the convention as eagerly as a child awaiting Santa on Christmas Eve.
This year, I was fortunate enough to make it out to SHOT Show 2013’s Media Day at the Range. Unfortunately, the weather was not accommodating to my enthusiasm (when I was out there, it was in the 30s with a 7-9mph wind – can you say, “brrr?”). Nonetheless, I was excited to shoot a few neat guns before the cold drove me back to the hotel.
Among them were:
Springfield Armory’s XD-S in 9mm, as seen in the featured video above
I know this isn’t a new gun, but I had never gotten to shoot Kel-Tec’s RFB in .308 Win before Media Day:
And Ruger’s new LC380, marketed as an improved .380 ACP striker fired CCW pistol for new/women shooters:
I didn’t get to shoot with this, but it’s just plain cool – the Tracking Point Networked Tracking Scope. Check it out:
As far as introductions to the new gear SHOT Show 2013 has to offer, this is only a small sample, but I have more content on the way as I visit the exhibits on the convention floor.
What gear would you like to see from the Show?
